Moses Nicholas Sorhaindo is now remanded into custody at the Dominica State Prison following a charge of murder preferred against him by the police.
It is alleged that between June 3, and June 18, 2023, Sorhaindo murdered Kendall Severin in La Plaine.
Information is that the accused man allegedly inflicted stab wounds to the deceased on June 3, following which, Severin was a patient at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) until his death on June 18.
The police had initially preferred charges of attempted murder against Sorhaindo but at his reappearance in court on June 26, 2023, before Magistrate Michael Laudat, the charge of murder was read to the La Plaine man.
He was not required to enter a plea since murder is an indictable offense, expected to be tried at the High Court before a Judge and jury.
Sorhaindo who was unrepresented was further remanded into custody and will return to court on October 3, 2023, for the start of his Preliminary Inquiry.
