However, about two elections ago I came to realize that we labourites were acting like sheep being lead to the slaughter and walked. Linton may not be the most loveable guy, but his commitment to fleshing out the detail of these things and holding the government to account is admirable. At the end of the day, it’s up to Dominicans to choose between a populist leader and one of substance. Unfortunately, right now, the populists around the world are winning.

@Putin……., A budget address is like a thesis on the economic development of a country and not on the operation of parliament. Thomas Erskine May drew our attention to the fact that Britain never had and will never have a constitution but said nothing on finance or economic development is not going to give him any credibility on the knowledge of budget planning. Neither is Shakespeare on his “men has lost their reason” position.
The question of GDP concerns the total economic value of the production of wealth of the whole country, that is, of both private and public sector plus the receipt of remittances.
What’s my point? The opposition leader did not make any contribution to the budget in his usual style of postulation. The budget is an account of revenue and expenditure for past year(s) and the current financial year. There is a presentation by the government and a response by the opposition.
