The prestigious occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Cadence-lypso, which was created in 1973 by Gordon Henderson and Exile One, has exposed the name of the Nature Isle globally. Every Dominican ought to pay homage to their musical patrimony.

I tried listening to this cadense lypso nonsense. And to be honest, it is just our regular calypso. Swinging stars again as musical accompaniment? Feller that is just the same calypso we getting carnival time. i dont know who we trying to fool. As usual our execution here is left wanting.

If you gon have Cadence and gospel, it’s time for Cadence artists to embrace Bouyon and give it the lyrical thrust it severely needs. It’s Bouyon fine already. Same for calypso. Just think what if Bob Marley and others had stuck with Rock steady or Kassav stuck with Cadence? It’s history, genius innovation that has done its time, no dis but let’s face it.

Three nights of sin and debauchery. After we have wined and debassed ourselves morally, we will use grace to sing and worship the Most High. Hypocrites.
