Here we are again and here we have another pappy show and propaganda theatre conducted by our chief passport seller and listened to by a handpicked audience, that is clapping like their lives depend on it and is braying like donkeys. They are being fed Skerrit fantasies, nothing new really because he has fed these same fantasies to them for 20 long years now. I thought at least one of them would be pricked by its conscience and jump up and ask the following question: Mr. Prime Minister, why aren’t you defending our country against all those accusations by the international press regarding your CBI program? What happened to the huge amount of proceeds from that program, said to be worth 10 billion EC$. Why don’t you talk to us about that. Aren’t we entitled to answers. You have been ‘elected’ by us to serve us but we didn’t give you a mandate to squander our resources like that. You Mr. PM, simply have no answers for the international press nor do you have an answer for the people of DA
The Dominica government recognises the diaspora and what it can offer in terms of knowledge and skills transfer. As one of my Caribbean uk friends put it we in the uk are the missing pieces of Africa.so surely Dominica has a plan and place for such missing pieces? the master plan is either not clear or the diasporan are only part from a distance and for a select few.other Caribbean states recognise the benefits of integrating diasporan in Caribbean societies I wonder if Dominica really does. is it that diasporan offer more from a distance and less when living in Caribbean state.
My dear diaspora I would advise you the little money you have to show for the years outside of Dominica is to not invest it into Dominica. Also please ask the PM where is the 2 billion dollars US from the sales of your passport money.
Roosevelt butter up Dominicans living overseas when they come home on special occasions. The maladministration pays their passage to return to Dominica to vote. Millions of dollars are spent on fetes to allow the Diasporans to drink themselves into a drunken stupor and become blinded and insensitive to the squalor around them.
During the meeting with these diehards of his, Roosevelt is asked cotton candy questions. He uses the opportunity for brainwashing, propagandizing and embellishing.
This meeting is an exercise in futility. It’s a session in lies to massage Roosevelt’s inflated ego. There is no truth in what he says. In fact, using honesty and Roosevelt in the same sentence is blasphemy.
