24 year old Stephan Cannon has been charged with murder in the first degree, among other crimes, for the killing of retired officer David Dorn on Sunday according to a TIME article.
Dorn ,age 77, was shot on Tuesday June 2nd in St. Louis, Missouri when he reportedly attempted to defend his friends pawn shop amidst ongoing looting.
According to the police’s probable cause statement Cannon was caught on camera with four others stealing televisions from the pawn shop.
“At the time the shots were fired, (Cannon) was the only person standing at that corner,” the probable cause statement reads. “Multiple plumes of smoke” can be seen coming from where Cannon was standing, and shell casings were found on the spot, police said.
The video of the shooting had been posted to Facebook but was later taken down.
Dorn was killed on a violent night when 4 police officers were shot; other officers were pelted with stones and fireworks and 55 businesses were burglarized or damaged and one convenience store was burned.
The riots have followed in the wake of the shocking and senseless killing of George Floyd, a black man, by white Minneopolis police officer Derek Chauvin which occurred on May 25th.
The video of Floyd’s killing was broadcast over social media and depicts Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s kneck almost 3 minutes after Floyd was found to be unresponsive by Chauvin’s fellow officers who had asked Chauvin to stop.
Anyway…some of you all people need to research American history before posting comments,you all have no idea how influential and manipulation white people hold over the poverty ravaged and systematic deprivation that black people exist in America,especially in chicago, the guns,the drugs,the prostitution,where you all think they come from?rich white homes,i am not condoning or justify the killing,but guys do digging,do some Googling and you all will understand America.
Research you say? Not when our people can go on Facebook and see and hear cochony to stay foolish. Most won’t take just a few minutes to simply type a question in a search engine, too many out there Yahoo, Bing, Youtube, Google, Wiki… and still have to think….duh oooh it’s too much their brain hurts.
See a young black man killing a black policeman! So you see! Black people is their own worse enemy. He thinks that he is entitled to what is not his. Black parents please teach your children to respect other people. You see also that the situation is used to do other unlawful things. You see too that more black people are killed as a result of that demonstration! You see too that we need to bring up our young ones in love and teach them that the Creator is not a racist too. You see too we perhaps encouraging those things for as adults we do not display tolerance, love but hate, jealousy, the envy of our very own. Even politics makes us hate each other! You see too that we each have to retrospect and now do the right thing. You see one would have thought that we would be closer after the pandemics, hurricane but alas Lord have mercy. We see all the ills brought to the surface. Alas Papa Bondieu have mercy on us.
No one can condone this, Black nor white. Some police in the U.S are at undeclared war against Black people, aided by white Supremacists. And these id10ts have for years been helping them in the guise of drug turf. That’s so stupid. This doesn’t preclude you from doing research on Black history particularly as it relates to African Americans. It’s deep.
If you and I rely on mainstream media and white supremacist propaganda for knowledge we will never know of the good things that occurred during the demonstrations, and there were many. They direct us to black on black crime and never mention the white guy who killed 59, well maybe 57 of his own white people in Las Vegas, and others; nor the white guy who killed 9 black people in a church not too long ago. The other surviving black folks even later bought him a sandwich. It’s ugly, but Please educate yourself on Black history so that you ar not easily manipulated. It is undeclared war against Black people in the U.S. Seriously!
Many of these young Black people feel ENTITLED. Entitled to take other people’s possessions the first chance they get. Many are always willing to get things for free and this creates a myriad of problems.
They are so different from Bala and Congoray, the real black freedom fighters of history, who were fighting for the right to live free and peacefully off the land. These young black guys just want other people’s money, televisions, and material things and are willing to do anything to get them. Many do not want to earn a living and then to go out to buy what they need.
There is no doubt that racism exists everywhere and is destructive to those who face it day after day. However, a lot needs to be corrected WITHIN the Black race for racism to end. WE too are a huge part of the problem when, by our actions, some of us perpetuate the belief that Blacks, especially males, are out to take other people’s things and harm them, even their own people.

That’s the contradiction,while we complain about racism,and of a truth. No one should be judged by skin color.At the same time we are murdering our own.For example, weekend before last…from May 29 to June 1 in Chicago,82 shootings and 22 was killed.But no problem, is black killing blacks.

Out of all the stories, articles etc. being reported on this issue, why did you choose to highlight this one?
it needs to be highlighted cause it shows wht people like you does not want to believe is actually going on in the states.
Because everyone is ignoring it and talking about the criminal thug who got killed because of resisting arrest. A guy who once held a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly to rob her while participating in a home invasion is a now a cultural icon and matyr for black people. It’s like a symbol of how lost this race of people are.
Dorn was a hero and an actually innocent black man. People talking about Floyd’s killing being senseless but where is the sense in rioting, looting and chaos which has resulted in the deaths of at least 5 more black people?
When you make such comments,you are insinuating that this was a revenge killing,that the police had this man as a marked man,your ignorance is blissed,does that justify killing every criminal including yourself for your pass,stop passing judgement where it doesn’t necessitates.
