[Updated] Marigot man succumbs to injuries from motorcycle accident at Wesley

Kevin Mathew

A Marigot man residing in the British Virgin Islands, met a tragic end during his return to Dominica, as a result of a fatal motorcycle accident. Kevin Julius Matthew who recently returned home to attend his uncle’s funeral was riding his motorcycle in the community of Wesley on August 21, 2023, when the accident occurred. Inspector of Police, Fixton Henderson reported that on August 21, 2023, at about 3:15 p.m., Matthew, 49 years old of Monkey Hill, Marigot who resided in Tortola was the lone rider of a motorcycle in a northerly direction along the Eden main road in Wesley.

At that moment, he stated, Matthew “appeared to have lost control of the bike and collided with a utility pole on the western side of the road. The motorcycle was extensively damaged and the rider received multiple injuries and was subsequently transported to the emergency department of Dominica China Friendship Hospital.”

Inspector Henderson further reported that the following morning, August 22, 2023, Matthew succumbed to his injuries and was officially pronounced dead by a medical doctor upon examination at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The body is being kept at a funeral home pending an autopsy.

“The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” Inspector Henderson conveyed.

The news of Matthew’s passing has been met with profound sadness both in the British Virgin Islands, where he was employed as a plumber, and in his homeland, Dominica, as many took to social media to express their grief in response to his death.

DNO expresses condolences to the family and friends of the late Kevin Matthew and will report any new development once it becomes available.

Now this man life is forfeited because of the power the Chines have over our people and country!

I was informed that these Chines setup speed bumps in our village? what right do these people have to do so? they caused his death

A speed bump is a ridge set in a road surface, typically at intervals, to control the speed of vehicles. Are these shi.-hole chines the traffic police in our country also?

I think they have decided to kill our people to ensure they become the majority in Dominica, I suggest to every one of our people they kill as in this case, our people should eliminate five of them.

Roosevelt is so corrupted, he has become, groping, unsighted, amaurotic, that he can no longer see the end of his nose; hence he can’t see he has become a nobody in his own country!

Dominicans need to revolt against Roosevelt; there must be an insurrection to get rid of Roosevelt, so that we can expel the Chines and their government from our country, they have long colonized…

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 3

It was confirmed to me by a completely reliable source that a new speed bump was the cause of the accident. Kevin had ridden this road a thousand times before.

So DNO what about the accident involving the supermo’s son, that a person died. How come you all did not, and not reporting anything about that. Not even asking the police about the investigating. Or interviewing the victims family’s or witnesses. Why is this accident is reported on, and not the other.

ADMIN: We did report on this story and we continue to follow it.

We are aware of some of the allegations being made but we cannot report hearsay or we will be held liable.
