Effective November 10, 2023, Mrs. Nathalie Walsh will relinquish her position as Festivals and Events Manager at DDA to take up another position in the private sector on island.
Mrs. Walsh steered the department and the Authority through a successful staging of Jazz’n Creole in April and most recently, the 23rd edition of the World Creole Music Festival in October 2023.
Mrs. Walsh expressed, “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Discover Dominica Authority, spearheading the team responsible for organizing festivals and events. However, an incredible opportunity arose in a field I’m passionate about, and I couldn’t let it pass me by. I’ve made it clear that I’m more than willing to lend my support to the DDA in any capacity I can. I wish the authority continued success and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with them again in the near future.”
The Ministry of Tourism, The Discover Dominica Authority, and the Dominica Festivals Committee wish Mrs. Walsh well in her future endeavours.
All the Red curtains will close one of these good old days, and what a day this will be, when Dominicans who care about their country and the future of their children and grandchildren will breathe a sense of relief. This Red Pepper 🌶 has been a hindrance to a prosperous Dominica. All the labor government is known for is BUILDING RED ROOF INNS 🏨 for lazy ladies. In Dominica, there are not many job opportunities to the extent where one could switch jobs. So I think that Mrs. Walsh was shown the door but she can’t say that.
The woman was under pressure from all sides. She resigned. She wasnt fired. As it stands WCMF 2023 was successful as an event. What would she have been fired for? In my opinion She saved herself a few headaches. When you have people that havent been paid by government for creole fest since 2022 and now 2023. She wasnt fired. She resigned from the position. whether she lazy or not thats not for me to say. but i know for a fact. she was not fired, they tried to retain her but her mind was made up. she resigned.
Great festival. Well after the “VIP” roof collapse, I had a feeling heads were going to roll, but had no idea how or when.
That had nothing to do with festivals commission. that collapsing tent was Nexconnex VIP tents. different organisation. Nathalie was not going to stay after the festival. it was too much for her and event and festivals is not her forte. She is a PR specialist. She resigned, she was not fired.
Correction VVIP roof and not VIP
I wonder why? Was she forced to go perhaps? You will never ever know with this government.
