But how did the accident happen? The truck and the HRV were driving down the hill while the RAV was being driven up the hill by Christabel Charles. And then……??????????
    We need better reporting here.

In places where they actually care about proper garbage disposal. Dominica is not on that list, nor will it ever be.

I can’t believe that they’re actually labeling an open dump truck as a “Garbage Truck.” Welcome to the next level.

I agree. This is a truck used to collect garbage but it is not a garbage truck. The truck is fitted with plywood on the sides to make up volume rather the having the garbage compacted. Solid waste corporation and by extension Dominica must do better than that. Money is spent on many things that are less important than garbage collection and disposal but money can’t be allocated for purchase of the appropriate garbage collection trucks. Considering the long haulage distances , compactor trucks must be the select vehicle for garbage collection.

While I sympathize with those concerned, theTraffic Department needs to do its investigations into whether ALL licenses (vehicles and drivers) were in order at the time of the accident. Too often some licenses are not in order when these accidents occur. So, Traffic Department investigate fully
Once again my sympathies to all concerned

Question, what difference does it make if you get into an accident and you paid 80 vs you didnt pay an 80 anyways

Another accident? The saying, “When it rains it pours.” Drivers must exercise caution when driving and also when turning corners. If it is raining they should know to decrease their speed. Drivers must watch left and right and watch out for other vehicles. This also means to keep your eyes on the road and what you are doing – driving. Do not be distracted by other matters. Do not play your radio loud in your vehicles. This could also be distracting.
Accident kills, injures and maims. Consider the cost to insurance companies.
The government will have to ensure that a speed limit be established throughout the country. If this were done, probably there would be no accidents or less of them.
I hope those who are injured will soon recover.

You must be sleeping. Do not be sarcastic. Pray that thee will be no more accidents, hopefully, not for a very long time, if never.

Some people do not like hearing/reading the truth. Too bad for you. The truth must be told/known. You cannot hide from the truth and you should never deny the truth. The truth will always prevail. Therefore, open your hearts and minds to the truth which will surely set you free.

Let The Truth Be Known – Original- I do not like to he at people say such things. ‘There would be no or less accidents, if a speed limit was ensured’. In the bigger countries where speed limit is ensured and there are signs all over the place, hundreds of accidents occur everyday, on the nice roads. You have to understand, that, there drivers drive differently, and some of the just cannot drive. Some drivers refuse to adhere to the road rules, others don’t even know about right of way, and there is the careless drivers, who take the road for their private yard. Let me put it this way. ONE CAN LEAD A HORSE TO WATER, BUT 20 CANNOT MAKE IT DRINK. Some people choose to do what they want, and they do not care. Some driver cause accidents and they just drive their merry selves away.

What the people should do, is to retest all drivers no matter how long they are driving, and also educate pedestrians on road safety. It is a good lesson for all.
