Sorry to hear of the accident. Pleased to know that their injuries are somewhat minor.
I do think that the driver may have been tired or sleepy and probably was driving too fast. After all, it is Carnival time and it happened after J’ouvert. He must have had a good time too. I hope that he was not intoxicated.
Drivers, slow down and drive safely. If you drive, do not drink. If you drink, do not drive. If you feel sleepy you should not drive. Otherwise your life, health and well-being of your passenger(s) including other drivers with passengers could be at stake.
Do the police not give drivers who especially had an accident a breathalyzer test?

I see you were alert. I overlooked “unknown”. I hope that they do not have serious injuries. This is what I should have stated. As you, everyone makes errors. It is not a major one because it does not affect those who were involved in the accident. Get it!

      @ Excuse

I can imagine how traumatized she was. The hospital should still have given her a medical test to ensure that she has no internal injuries.

      @ carib to the bone

I comprehend what you stated. I have read about it in Holy Scriptures. While some people object to and criticize the Carnival celebrations, they could be doing worst than those who are enjoying it. God knows this too well since He takes note of all our words and actions. May no one be hypocritical about that.
Carnival stems from our ancestors, the African slaves. If you do not know this history, you should read about it. You may find this information in one of Lennox Honeychurch’s books.
There is nothing wrong with having Carnival. It all depends how people conduct themselves during this time. If it is good, clean fun, God does not mind. He knows and expects that we earthlings :) need to have some fun and to enjoy life as we also worship Him. Even this type of enjoyment does not take away the love for God. It is the manner in which they enjoy those days.
Carnival is here to stay until the end of time. No one on earth can take this away from the people. They need to let off some steam as well. :) Another reason why there is music and dances throughout the year.
Everybody, whatever their race, color, creed or status loves a good time and one as Carnival. As the Carnival enjoyment continues, one more day, may there be no incidents.

You could have well stopped at the end of the first sentence of your second paragraph! “Carnival stems from our ancestors, the African slaves…” Look at this persons name, “Carib to the bone”!What does that person care about African Heritage?

        @ Justice and Truth

While I respect everyone’s opinion, I am sure you will admit that the celebrations of our ancestors is not what we see today. Now it is about reveling and drinking and the likes. The kinds of customs we see now-a-days are more revealing than anything else, not the kinds that should really be called custom, but rather show my goodies-tume. God is not in that my friend.

So God wrecks a car because He doesn’t like partying? You make God sound like a child throwing a tantrum instead of te Creator of everything. I have no doubt that if God the All-Powerful wanted Carnival to stop, He’d find a surer way.

You must be a bitter and unhappy person to sit there thinking people deserve to be injured just because they are having a good time. Save your judgments for those who actually cause pain to others.
