Dominica News Online can now confirm that there was an accident in Fond Cole last evening.
According to police PRO Kenth Matthew the incident occurred around 5:15 pm on Wednesday when a pickup truck swerved to avoid an obstruction in the road.
This resulted in a motorbike, ridden by Caleb Rolle, colliding with the truck.
Rolle was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital with multiple injuries including a broken femur.
His injuries are not considered life threatening.
Well for everyone that’s commenting jus making u all kno that’s he’s coming on very nice jus keep praying
man in particular are responsible for there own actions i mean i no sometimes we does want to take a fast drive but we should no that life is not a joke and we should take caution to the signs set up for us so we should all drive safe!!!!!
I CANNOT BELIEVE MY PADNA CRASH
I totally agree stop light, stop signs and speed bumps.
Why do accidents happen? The fact is we never know when accidents will occur. It will be determined whose fault it is.
In Toronto we have our fair share of accidents and too many of them, drivers, passengers and pedestrians.
A few days ago an terrible accident occurred somewhere in Ontario. Eight farm workers from Peru died. They had just left work. A few of them recently arrived in Ontario and this was their first day of work.
The driver of the van was was celebrating his 11th anniversary. A few minutes prior to the accidents he telephoned his wife and said that he would be home in a few minutes. He did not make it. He, too, died. How sad. They collided with a truck.
The Police in that area said that this is the worst accident ever experienced in Ontario.
I heard that the driver of the van did not stop at the stop sign for whatever reason. Some of those remote areas only have stop signs and road signs and no lights.
Three men survived but are in serious condition in the hospital.
The remains of those who died will be flown to Peru. The Canadian/Ontario government will bear the costs to return them to Peru and also the hospital costs for the survivors. I consider this an extremely generous act and a good one which no Ontarians/Canadians will ever object to.
This accident really rocked us in Ontario and no doubt all over Canada and wherever it was broadcasted. No exception in Peru. It is so sad. My heart hurts for their family and also for those who passed on in that accident. I pray that God had mercy on their souls.
Drivers must be alert at all times and obey road and street signs.
Today, as the population grew, there are more vehicles on the road. We have good roads but accidents still happen for whatever reason.
Specifically when I am going out I ask God to protect me, praying that I will return safely. Yes! I bless myself with Holy Water. All of us especially Catholics should do likewise. Too many times we take life and our safety for granted. We do not have to be paranoid about it but always ask God for His protection. God is pleased when we ask Him in prayer. May God be praised and thanked at all times!
BULLTOE SIR!!
omg these guys must be careful, stop the fast driving we will reach where we have to go,driving fast is not the answer,am calling on traffic please we need speed bumps for these new roads, take care my boy you are in my prayers
No he don’t have facebook na sorry wish I could post u a pic oh something
where can you see the photos on facebook?
A broken fumer is life threatening in Dominica considering that it is one of the main bones in the body. Not to mention that a the last guy who had the accident on the bayfront a while back had the same and it didnt seem he was in life threatening danger.
But that huge bone can lead to huge blood loss which is life threatening especially in D/A.
Lord I’m only asking u too guide my love of my life :'(
i really wonder y drive fast…u must reach ur destination yea….OMG….
Drive safely ppl…..
I think Dominicans must stop posting such pictures on facebook. Please try to maintain the dignity of individuals and their families who may be in a different time zone. Sometimes you see things before you actually know from your families when you live abroad. Be considerate please.
i think this calls for stop light and stop signs on the roads and also speed limits
So no such accidents occur where there is street lights?
Read the story the man in the van swerved an obstruction in the road instead of just taking his time and ride the obstruction.
That is a definite case of ‘Driving without due care and attention’ nothing to do with street light and in case you haven’t been to the nature isle the area where the accident happened a street light there is not logical…
I sometimes wonder about my people and their ‘know it all attitude!!’
hang in dere bro , hang in
take ur time on the road people!!!! it is not a joke!!!
did the guy die????? the pics on fb are really graphic
I dont know what happened, and i hope he”ll recover fully. I hope it was not speeding, because while visiting last year, that stretch of road was not even completed, and people were racing and over taking others, unnecessarily, and gave little consideration to those around them, even with kids in their cars. Enjoy the new roads people, but be and drive save, and arrive alive.
Thank god..You sure his ok?….I see this guy every morning when i’m going to school from when he had the bmx bike to the motor bike. I hope his alright.
Thank God for that!!
no one was killed
The accident occurred at the Fond Cole intersection, not under the cliff.
He is ok PEOPLE,he is hanging in there. Thank God!
In that hos “piece atall we have at PMH hanging in there is very scary eh !! honestly
@ Family member
I wish him well. My prayers are with all of you and of course for him. May God assist him and heal him in time.
we must take it easy under dat cliff wii… drivers doing crazy tings on dat piece of road
it wasnt under the cliff it was in the cross road to go up fond cole and the van turned goin up fond cole where as the bike was comeing out canefield side the van was wrong
that comment not making sense. If the van was going into fond cole from the main road, then it had right of way. There’s no way someone coming out of fond cole turning on to the main road could have right of way
But “Anonymous” u margee man? The person coming from Canefield has right of way cause he is on the left side of a major thoroughfare. The van got hit on the left side meaning he heading south and turned into fond cole. he is leaving the main road going to a secondary road and has to pass over another lane so how he have right of way there.
People read twice before you comment. The first time and the second time to pick up what you missed on the first read. Also in some instance one may have to do a third read. Otherwise you “Anonymous” would not have made that comment. The commenter said that the Bike was coming from Canefield side and the van turn going up Fond Cole. Just saying to read properly!
The van must have been traveling from north to south, that’s the only way the bike traveling from north to south could have hit the van on the left.
no one died.
oh god…i hope and pray that your reports will not be confirmed…
i just saw pics of the accident on facebook…..it is very serious
