One woman was reported to have been seriously injured following an accident involving three vehicles near the Woodbridge Bay Port in the capital Roseau on Friday night.
The unidentified woman was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital in an ambulance.
She was said to have lost a significant amount of blood at the scene of the accident.
Eye-witnesses reported that the woman’s two grand children who were also traveling on the Sasaki mini-bus with her appeared to be traumatized.
The other vehicles involved are a Black Subaru Forester and Toyota car.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the drivers were hurt and if so how badly.
The extent of the injuries suffered by those involved in the accident was not clear at the time of this report being filed.
DNO will provide more information on the accident as it becomes available.

you guys should really admit that you all just dont know how to drive, just give it up the driving and start using donkey.
Why so reckless?
We need to look at the consiquenies of what we are doing so have an eye open on the future
Especially the drivers of the rodad
To DNO Admin. DO you all refuse to post comments when they are written from those of us from DA who live in the USA?
god bless her
Hope she better well
My prayers are with her during this time of illness
Some people just like to click the red button man.
There are lots of ill discipline drivers on our roads who does not have a clue of how to drive on good roads except for keeping the vehicle on the road.Good roads are for comfortable driving and not to be reckless, there’s no where in this country to drive too speedily to get to.I would like to advise the traffic department to review the licenseing of many drivers whenever they renew, cause lots of these drivers do not have a clue
I am going to change my alias too many waitukubulis on DNO – CHUPES.
Its a bit annoying that every 2 to 3 days I read the news I am reading about these accidents. I know that the roads are nothing like what it was growing up in new town, but my goodness the powers that be need to do something with some of these reckless drivers. I am always dead scared while driving on the buses while going from point A to point B. and what’s really scary is that when you try to speak to most of these drivers they get upset with you.. Accidents will happen but these reckless drivers should be punished, even if it means suspending their driving privilege. Some of you might say oh when they are suspended how will they feed their families? But think of the ones who are either maimed or RECKLESSLY killed by some of these guys..
Such a terrible news. Hope that she will be fine and get back to her normal quickly. Please share some updates about her condition.
I hope they are ok
i hope they are ok
I saw that accident and it was terrible. I saw one upside down and another on the side walk. This will be a common scenario in Dominica after what I have been seeing on the road. 2 vehicles trying to overtake one and its 3 vehicles at one point going in the same direction. No police in sight.
these idiots just must drive like crazy lunatics on the damn road. the people involved weremy uncle and aunty and my two little cousins…while they being so careless they hurt innocent people i could have lost my family to this senseless racing. she has broken fingersss and torn skin and God knows what other complications they all will suffer later on. authorities need to start with them speeding tickets…its ridiculous
wow that place is too dark…do they have light in Dominica or not..seems kinda primitive.
just like a mile away from the melville hall airport that lenght of road is way too dark..
again dominica isnt know for doing things at a proffessional level..they settle for less in that island way too easily…
If the woman only suffered a broken finger, why was she flown out of Dominica!
The drivers of the ‘Black Subaru Forester and Toyota car’ mentioned in the report should be charged by the police with dangerous driving and whatever charge suits the accident. I think they should be made to repair or replace the man mini-bus too.
i tell u people street lights not gonna make it any safer is the drivers that ned to learn the rules of the road and stop doing nonesense all they doing is speeding or driving like they crazy or so on people thats newkly surfaced road is a death trap take u all time drive sensibly a few months ago i said IT HAS BEGUN when accidents start happenig now all i can say is IT IS CONTINUEING
OMG my Granny [Mrs. Cecile] I’ll be praying for you the most and so will you’re other Grand Children of CONCORD. Please get better.
the silver and black vehicles were speeding – (as Dominican drivers usually do on their parents road). Poor woman in the white bus. So innocent and on her right side of the road to boot. One driver left the left side of the road and hit her on the ride side and flipped over her vehicle, sending her to the hospital… hope you are feel better soon lady.
i think the government needs to put street light or something around that area because it always seem to have an accident involving three vehicles. I pray that all is well with the woman and allothers involved.
There are street lights and reflectors
What we need is to exercise more caution on the nice roads. When you are racing trying to have “fun” what do you expect? I was in the vicinity of Ravine Cork when the Forester and Toyota Car passed racing. I had to pull to the left to avoid a collision.
they were speeding and couldn’t slow down and hit my uncle’s vehicle from the back turning it over….what is the reason to have so much speed that u cannot slow down? street lights or no street light driver have headlights and should be cautious
Waw yall really need to do better on this reporting…….silver Honda, black Forester, White Suzuki bus…the woman only has a broken finger, no loss of blood smh…news travels well around this country but not accurate!
“She was said to have lost a significant amount of blood at the scene of the accident.”
“the woman only has a broken finger, ”
These two really does not add up, something seems to be very wrong with the reporting, please DNO varify and bring us the accurate version of what has happened
ADMIN: We report what our reporters on the scene saw. However, we are attempting to get a police report on the matter. So far we have been unsuccessful.
DNO you have to report what the police tld you thats accurate. you all want to be the one to report the news first.
Excuse me but were you there to say no loss of blood? You need to get your facts before you just go blabbering your mouth. I was there and there was a lot of blood on the road and on the bus. You know what our problem is in this country. We are a bunch of insensitive fools. Instead of praying for the woman to be ok we here talking trash. Why don’t we all focus on the real problem here. These two boys were racing and innocent people had to pay the price. They walked away without even a scratch. While poor decent hard working people are there suffering.
broke her finger???????? go see her in the hospital and u will see a broken finger,,,idiot!!!!
she was badly hurt because of the arrogance of some young men who don’t know where and when to race….i am not against racing,….but on a friday night at 9pm in front of the port….is really dumb….they better thank their lucky stars nobody died…their young lives would never be the same again….
On my way to town i observed a long line of vehicle and on a closer look i saw a bus on it’s side, what came to my mind was “Drag Racing” the DAYTONA 500,when will the authorities get real tough on drivers? somebody help me with this answer, i was listening to news yesterday about a driver who took the life of someone else in Ottawa back in 2009, family gained some closure Monday with the sentencing of the man whose driving caused the 19-year-old’s death,B.C. Supreme Court Justice Keith Bracken sentenced Marchbank, 53, to two years less a day of jail time, along with handing him a five-year driving prohibition and ordering that a sample of his DNA be taken. Bracken said several witnesses commented on how fast and reckless Marchbank’s driving was on the day of the crash, with one saying it was as if Marchbank was “in a racing game.
i wish we had these laws here. poor innocent lady,i would make these fools pay for the care of the family for life.
unfortunately the mini bus on the side was not part of the drag race. happened to get the raw deal from careless drivers. prayers go out to my family member.
them countr bookies see nice road they messing around!!!
SHORTBOY it seems the whole of Dominica is country bookies, you don’t know who the hell was driving or where they are from so just shut your trap.
shut up lmao!
Who more county bookie than you are? Narrow minded fool.
omg! she’s ok
Lord let us pray that she will be o .k afterall .let us get down on our knees and pray for her
My prays are out to her….Hope she ok
