The hotel where the man’s body was found

A man, who Antiguan authorities and media have identified as a Dominican was found dead in a hotel room in Antigua on Monday morning.

Patrick Joseph’s body was found around 9:00 am in a room at Joe Mike’s Hotel by a maid who normally took breakfast to his room, reports indicate.

It is reported that the maid told police that she became suspicious when she knocked on Joseph’s door several times without getting a response.

A key was used to enter the room where Joseph’s lifeless body was found with a sheet covering the lower part.

It is reported that Joseph has been living in Antigua for a number of years and had  complained of feeling unwell.

It is said that he was a patient at a hospital where he was being treated for kidney problems.

I remember Patrick as a hardworking individual who was always ready to help in what ever way he could.
He was a huckster for a number of years and lost his boat during a hurricane many years ago. He appeared to have no close family and may have been the reason why he lived in a motel. I will always have pleasant memories of his friendship.
    RIP

When someone is on dialisis it is exstreamly difficult on the body. that guy realize that his end is close so instead of staying in a place with noise or where he is uncomfortable, he rather go and meet the Lord in a place where he may relax.I do realize it has some people that new his condition, So please my people if you all dont have nothing nice to write please dont post any negative stuff on there. Is not only Dominican that read this site. Just say somthing positive and nice for once, this a death.

I see that nowadays people don’t respect the dead as they used to. No one knows where he/she is going to die. So even if he took Viagra or whatever, should people be trashing the brother like that? come-on people! let’s be people.

Why, when and how he died is for the examiners to give us answers. We all have to die one day, and we don’t know how. As some one comment he lost everything when he got sick. Do you know even though we are in the Caribbean, in the US or other parts of the world, some of us are a pay cheque away from being homeless.

I don’t know how and why he died, the fact is that he is dead, and we should have more empathy and sympathy for him and his extended family. HIS OWN IS IN FROMT, YOURS IS BEHIND.THOSE WHO WITHOUT SIN, FIRST CAST A STONE. Why don’t some of the people who have so much negative comments go read a book, to yourself, or get a dictionary and look up the words, human, sympathy, empathy, sorrow, loss.

So sorry! But to many people are making the hotels rooms the dying sport. Can someone help me? Why is a sick man who leaves in a place go to a hotel by himself?

He had been living in Antigua for a number of years but returned home due to illness. However, he had to return to Antigua for dialysis treatment. He had no where to live thus rented the hotel/ Apartel on a long-termed basis. He was seeking a house to rent but was unsuccessful. Hope that clears the air.

May his soul rest in peace. Hopefully, an autopsy will determine his cause of death.

      June 12, 2013

jack @!#$ the man that cover himself when he went to bed in his room at the hotel.

    • June 12, 2013

The question is not who covered him, but why was he in a hotel room if he lives in Antigua?

      • June 12, 2013

IKR…If he was visiting the country for medical treatment for his sickness, then obviously I would understand him staying at a hotel for the time being. Something is not right. I may be wrong but how can one be living in a country for a number of years and found dead in a hotel? Was his place of residence the hotel? Just curious

And I suppose we all know where and when we will be when God is ready to close the curtain of our life.

In that case we should all remain where we want to be when we die and never move from that spot.

Those are very stupid questions. Did you not stop to think that he could have gone to bed just like that?
