Hello and good afternoon my people. First I want to offer my condolences to the victim family who lost his life. When I left Dominica in 1968 I was seven years and I returned in 2009 for the first time and every year since. Now I drove around the round about every time I retuned and you must slow down to be safe therefore, I have to believe speed was a major contributing factor in this accident. I don’t know of any river by the round about rather I know of a ditch and an incline to Bells or Layou flat. The article should give us the result of the police investigation to determine if the driver was speeding which cause the man to lost his life So the family can take civil action against the driver.
I had to pop over to DA for a few days last month and I must say when it comes to intelligence, DA drivers don’t rank very high. They may otherwise be intelligent people, but then they are behind the wheel of a car, I have to think they leave their brains a home.
Jumbee money building our roads and our people dying on them; jumbee money building our pit toilets and Maria destroyed all of them; jumbee money was spent on our churches and Maria came with her fury fury! A lot of our bikes and guns are from jumbee money. So jumbee gives jumbee takes back most times. I am not saying that was the case here but the merw fact that jumbee money built our roads, nothing surprises me these days. Who vex let them be vex but it’s time to start to call Jumbee out.
He wasn’t the one who went to Laplane dressed in white robe looking for the sun and it was covered by the cloud. that’s what you call jumbee.
me always wonder why not a single word is given on: was the car with valid registration and insurance, did the driver has a valid license?
in civilized countries drivers without license go to jail, or cars without insurance /registration are confiscated and withdrawn from public roads.
when was the last road block by police in order to check registration, insurance and license?? i CANT EVEN REMEMBER WHEN……
why all DA trucks aint got NO lights, no proper tires, No indicators or insurance / registration?? dump trucks operating every single day pestering the air with exhaust and noise pass police officers without a second look, even get greeting from officers but never ever get checked, why ??? why am I so stupid to pay my insurance/ registration each year if breaking/ ignoring these rule got no consequences ???
Boy, just asking ……..
Good observation, pertinent questions! I concur with all you have said, Dread Gal.
Just a warning to all drivers especially during carnival as we tend to let our guards down. Don’t drink and drive nor drive and drink, be fully sober. Most of the roads are too narrow with too many corners for speeding. Some are too dimly lit. Drive with an abundance of caution as the life you save may be your very own. Sincerest condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
HMM calculate the time of death….calculate the declaration of candidates……calculate what is the speculated election date calculate well…using data of the past.
Alas said pou fe may he rest in peace
While not knowing the cause of the accident I have to say that I’ve always disliked how smooth the piece of road between Saltan and the round about was done. When it’s dry one can manage but when it’s wet it’s a recipe for disaster if you don’t take your time. There are no guard rails or lines down the center to separate right from left. Just one long stretch of pitch saying drive at your own risk. Yet we pay $75 road tax for this garbage and other garbages packages around the motorable crippled island. There are way too many lives being lost on this island because of the master double Dr’s negligence
