Hummm…..How something like that can happen. I am sad to hear it happened but now it raises questions, questions and more questions. Was he sleeping on the job. Not all security gaurds are fit for the position. I think platinum should check on the people they employ before take people to do these jobs. That is not an easy job especially if you work the night shift. The saddest thing about that is that the people are not paid properly, if you do not believe me, ask someone who works for any of the security firms. I do hope that person get help from platinum and recovers quickly.

Can’t you read? Why Marpin? He was an employee of Platinum Security assigned to Clear Harbour. It just so happened that Clear Harbour operates on the top floor of the Marpin building.

Was it just last week that Mr. Leblanc was talking about the Labour laws being antiquated and the need for improved awareness of health and safety on the job? I guess much discussions will come out of this incident.

      July 5, 2012

why the thumbs down??? It’s a simple question

      By the way:

OSHA = Occupational Safety and Health Administraion

      • Stupes
        July 6, 2012

How can we have OSHA when we live in Dominica and not the US???? OSHA is a US agency

    • Joi
      July 6, 2012

This is so funny, perhaps they thought of ‘OSHA’ in the patois sense to mean impertinent. I wondered the same thing when I read this story, does Dominica have any occupational safety laws which legally and medically protects an employee for on the job injuries? Hope this fellow recovers quickly, this has got to me a traumatic experience.

I’ve always wondered about the length of time that security guards are on stag at any one time. Ideally to remain alert and refresh, the normal standard in the Services is 2 hours on and 4 hours off.

A las i hope that this person gets better soon.
