Dominica’s resident ambassador to Cuba His Excellency Dr. Charles Corbette has confirmed that no Dominican student was hurt in a bus accident which occurred in the Spanish speaking Caribbean island on Saturday, March 2, 2013.
According to His Excellency Dr. Charles Corbette, five (5) Caribbean students sustained injuries when the bus they were travelling in collided with a truck, but contrary to earlier news reports, there were no fatalities.
The five students were subsequently admitted to hospital, treated and discharged.
At the time of the accident they were returning home from an organized activity to observe Grenada’s independence anniversary.
The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development through the Government of Dominica expresses regret over the incident and wishes the affected students a speedy recovery.
Thank God there was not any fatalies.
