A charter plane carrying a Brazilian football team crashed in the mountains in Colombia late Monday, killing 76 people, officials said. They said five survived the disaster.
The LAMIA airlines charter declared an emergency at around 10:00 pm local time” 0300 GMT Tuesday, reporting it had suffered “electrical failures,” and crashed a short time later near the city of Medellin, officials said.
The plane was carrying members of Chapecoense Real, a Brazilian football club which was to have played in the Copa Sudamericana finals on Wednesday against Atletico Nacional of Colombia.
In all, there were 72 passengers and nine crew on board.
According to the news from Columbia it is due to human error and stupidity,There was not sufficient fuel ,the pilot new that but he refused adding more fuel .76 people 6 survivors including one who will loose both legs while others are severely injured and expecting a good recovery…

One of the survivors was Alan Ruschel, a 27-year-old defender for the Brazilian team, the head of Colombia’s civil aeronautics agency, Alfredo Bocanegra, told reporters.
Radio Caracol said two other players — Marcos Danilo Padilla and Jackson Follmann — also survived and were taken to area hospitals, along with a flight attendant and a journalist.
Nine team members did not travel to Colombia.

Extremely sad news. A whole team may be wiped out.
Electrical failure so far. I also heard they may have ran out of fuel. If so, surely, the authorities should have ensured there was ample fuel to make the trip.
May the relatives of their departed loved ones be consoled and find comfort and peace in the Lord.

Every time I open a page to read, there is no news, but the news of death, or someone is saying R.I.P to mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, and more. Good Lord! What is happening? But don’t tell me; for the distress is hard enough to bear, I don’t want to enter the depth of deep despair.
Just reach out to the families of those people who are passing away so suddenly; dear God. Give them the touch that will soothe their sorrowed heart, put Your peace in their mind O God! Let them know that Your strength is being made perfect in their weakness. Let them that in the deep of darkness there is always a glittering star. In Jesus name. Amen

According to CBS Channel 2 11:00 A. M. news they reported six people survived, I am listening to the news and viewing the crashed remains right now at 11:09 A. M. California time! It is more or 4:00 P. M. in Dominica at the moment.

Elizabeth, last night the 1st day of December 2016, in the news again. I saw inside of that aircraft loaded with the people, the pilot was being interviewed, the last thing he said in the fuselage, was the team stand a good chance of winning.
He spoke in Portuguese; I have audio and video of the news; where, we heard recordings where the man ask for emergency permission to land, as the first engine failed, and crashed because the aircraft ran out of fuel. In the final analysis the said six of the seventy-six people survived.
Where it pertains to Dominicans, as everything else, it is always opposite to the rest of the world, because Dominica English is different to the English language anywhere else.
