African Liberation celebrations climax today (Saturday may 25) with the traditional march from the Pottersville Savannah  through the streets of Roseau to the Harlem Community grounds where a a rally will be held.

Among other activities forming part of the celebrations are an Art and Craft exhibition, at the Harlem Community grounds, which depicts the work of talented Dominican artists and entrepreneurs and a panel discussion on Wednesday at the UWI Open Campus. At that function, lawyer, Noreen John dealt with the question of how laws have affected women in their quest for liberation and WAWU Secretary-Treasurer, Kertiste  Augustus, with the laws and their impact on trade unions and the work environment. Attorney Henry Shillingford will also form part of the panel.

A Cultural Extravaganza at the Old Mill Cultural Center on Friday, where different aspects of the African Culture including drumming, dancing, poetry and steel band were displayed. The event also featured a play, A Tale of Slavery, by Gisele Pierre-Toussaint.

   :?: With no disrespect and insults,i’d like to know what African liberation day is all about, who are to liberate Africans if they are not liberated and what are Africans doing to truely liberate themselves?Starting in Dominica like in Africa is being recolonised by a new set of economic power, the Chinese. The exact same thing that our black leaders are doing in Dominica is happening in Africa by the black leaders there.Giving away the resources of the country and jobs to the Chinese with nothing given to the indigenous black Africans leaving them in poverty. All the black leaders are concerned about is their personal self and what is given to them individually in their corrupt deals. That’s why i am ever so convinced that our black leaders have always been sell outs and was fully involved in the slave trade for what was received personally from the white man, enslavers and colonisers.Unless these corrupt acts against black people by their black leaders stop, black people will never be liberated and independent!   :?:

RESPECT TO THE BLACKMAN and WOMAN,who came to this side of the hemisphere in Bondage,
and our Fathers and Mothers who worked to make the WEST a place for their children to rest,
But Babylon won’t let us rest, with all their comess as Education, trying to deny us of our relationship with ZION.
But JAH is OUR LIGHT and DIRECTION,and we will Hold Strong.
