The Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) has awarded several Roseau market vendors and staff for their contribution to the daily operations of the “New Market” as it is known to many.
During this year’s Market Day with a Difference ceremony, which took place at the Roseau Market on Saturday, Marycent Warrington received the Roseau Market Award for the services she rendered since her employment at the market in 2001.
The cleaner who also multi-tasks, was described as a true team player in the daily running of the market and one who is always willing to serve market staff and patrons.
Several other market stakeholders who include butchers, poultry farmers and root crop distributors also received awards.
Among the many awardees, Bertha Boyer received an accolade for her service as a Saturday vendor while her counterpart Philomen Pacquette received one for root crop distribution.
