The Justin Fadipe Medical Centre has again received international recognition for excellence in the field of healthcare.

The institution has been nominated by the Europe-based Socrates Committee for the ‘Best Hospital’ international award, in recognition of their “excellent reputation, safe and effective treatment methods, highly professional medical staff, and modern equipment.”

The International Socrates Committee is a counsel which represents leaders within the business, education and science international communities. The committee has worked to establish European Business Association (EBA) Awards, as well respected international accolades.

Proprietor of the Centre, Dr. Basil Fadipe, in an interview with Dominica News Online, commented that the nomination is a tribute to hard work, and said that he is proud to have been nominated.

“I feel very happy, I feel like my work is not going in vain. It’s not all the time that work is measured by money; work can be measured by recognition,” he elaborated. “I feel extremely proud that a small hospital like mine, in a remote place like Cuba Road [Mero], is being recognized.”

Fadipe stated that gaining international recognition encourages him and his staff to maintain a high standard of operation.

“It means that we need to keep working hard. Somebody is watching all the time, so we need to keep working. International organizations are keeping an eye on us, and that’s encouraging,” he explained. “We need to keep maintaining the standard that is attracting all these international organizations to give us recognition.”

The winners will be presented on October 7, 2016, at the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel, Cannes, France, during the European Awards Night in the framework of the Excellence in Quality and Management Forum.

The Justin Fadipe Medical Center, named after the proprietor’s father, is both a Clinical and Academic center, and has been in existence since 2001.

In 2013, the Justin Fadipe Medical Centre was selected by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) to receive the “Quality Achievement Award” for work done in the local health sector.

    CONGRATULATIONS DR. FADIPE :!:

When I saw the headline I passed over the article because I thought “I know nothing about that Medical Center. Why should I bother … ” Then I went back to it.

When I read the article I could see the hand of God. Again and again I have seen similar cases where MAN SAID “NO” BUT GOD SAID “YES” :!:

“It is marvelous in our eyes.”

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

As a former pillar of the DLP that played a significant role in the DLP 2000 victory, I wish to congratulate you, and thank you for making us in the health department proud. You have taught us how to press on in the midst of adversity, and as a Christian, you reminded me of the story of Joseph, in Gen. 50:20, …”you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good…” I say this because I remember clearly how my DLP refused to renew your contract, which to me was a sign of a government with wrong priorities and would ultimately fail. At that time you felt discouraged because it appeared like you would have to return to your home land. Thank God that was not the case, as instead, you decided to build your own hospital, and while Skerrit has closed down the Marigot hospital and, the PMH is in a mess to the point where Dominicans have to run abroad for basic things like boil, you and your hospital getting international recognition. I hope Skerrit makes you minister of health or…

Such a dumb response to a well educated forum. Some people just don’t know when to shut up. You must first start with registering your land and getting your plans approved at the Physical Planning Division. Discuss your concerns with the proper authorities including the Environmental Health people. Your contribution on this makes no sense. Also go visit the hospital yourself and make your assessment. This comments is sick!!
