Eleven Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Senators were appointed Monday.

Alinica Williams-Grant, Knacyntar Nedd, Philip Shoul, Mary Clare Hurst, Osbert Frederick, Caleb Gardiner, Shenella Govia, and Colin Browne will be returning as government senators.

Meanwhile, Clement Antonio, Rawdon Turner, and Samantha Marshall will be the new faces in the Senate replacing Aziza Lake, Gail Christian, and Maureen Payne-Hyman.

Samantha Marshall will also serve as Minister of State within the Ministry of Health, Wellness, Social Transformation, and the Environment with responsibility for Social Transformation.

Marshall was defeated by the United Progressive Party candidate for St Mary’s South Kelvin Simon.

Meanwhile, Senator Clement Antonio was also appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Public Works, Lands, and Urban Renewal.

According to him, he is coming in at a time when the ministry has a lot of challenges.
