APP concerned about Keyan Alexander’s death; calls on nation to pray for safe return of ‘our daughter’

The Alternative Peoples Party (APP) has said that the party is “gravely hurt” by the death of Keyan Alexander, – the mentally ill adductor of Kernisha Etienne – who died from gunshot wounds that he sustained during his capture by the police.

“It is disappointing and very sad that the police, in their wisdom, would not find it fitting, not to take the necessary precautionary measures in ensuring that Kian was captured alive, so as to assist in returning Kernisha Etienne safely home,” the APP said in a statement. “The abduction of Kernisha Etienne is a national crisis and one would expect that the police would be fully aware of the objective of this matter, which should have been to capture Kian Alexander alive. Kian’s death has reduced hope of the safe return of Kernisha at this time.”

The party is also calling on all the spiritual leaders of Dominica and all Dominicans “to pray for the safe return of our daughter” and is urging the authorities, “notwithstanding the circumstances, to do all within their power and we call on every abled Dominican to join in an organized and strategic movement to search for Kernisha.”

The APP in its statement, also extends “heartfelt condolences to the family of Kian Alexander”.

In an earlier statement, the Alternative Peoples` Party party had expressed sadness and grave concern over the kidnapping of twelve-year-old Kernisha Etienne.

“God brought Daniel out of the lion`s den safely and God is more than able to bring Kernisha Etienne home safely,” the party stated while calling on the government to put necessary facilities in place for those among us, like Keyan Alexander, with mental health conditions.

The APP had expressed optimism about the safe return of the 12 year-old and empathized with her family and that of Keyan Alexander.

“God bless all involved, God bless you the people of Dominica and God bless our country, Dominica,” APP stated..

NJAM are continuing their high level of Bsism.Bells is in the St.Joseph district.According to the police Keyan had been terrorising the people of Bells for two weeks. There was a police inspector in charge of the St.Joseph district with a few police constables,Keyan would never be alive to kidnapp the 12 year old had these officers been in St.Joseph.And Matt could never interview any witness or possible suspects in the matter.

@Lin clown, don’t you understand that there are laws which seek to ensure that “no one” should be executed without a fair trial. You keep advocating for the deceased Keyan to have been killed by the police. The police and you can believe that they are judge, jury and executioner but extrajudiciary killing of anyone is uncivilized. Go back to your dark ages or wise up to modern constitutional rights and privileges in civilized society. The truth will be revealed whether the death of Keyan was an extrajudiciary killing by the police which is wrong on all fronts.

“the objective of this matter, which should have been to capture Kian Alexander alive.”

APP, what have you said above? Did the Police not capture Alexander alive? But he was a disoriented mentally ill man, walking around with a cutlass of whatever its length; do you think that the police should simply walk up to him, when they say him, as he held what length of that cutlass against them?

So they had to use their guns to weaken him, did they shoot at him towards his head or his heart? Not at all! They simply stopped him from getting away as the protected their own live, by stopping his legs.

I read that he gave them some form of informatician concerning the whereabouts of Kernisha–good or not so good. Alexander died at the hospital–you thought above makes no sense, whatsoever.

@elizabethlxavier, the police report states that Alexander was pronounced dead by the medical examiner out in the bushes and not in any hospital. For someone who loves to use the name of God in whatever you say just remember that God doesn’t like untruths.

Before Keyan Alexander died he TOLD police as to the wereabout of the 12 year old.He told police where he BELIEVE the child was.The police searched the area but the child was not found.I leaves one to believe Keyan did not know where the child was. What does the police do in the circumstances? The police have no choice but to continue the search without the help of Keyan, because the first information he gave to the police .was a lie.If Keyan is a certified madman,a complete madman ,a 100% lunatic,he can be charged, arrested and convicted he cannot be sent to a regular prison. He has to be sent to a mad house for treatment.5 years later he is out.I guess APP would ask Keyan to lead them to the place he left the child.DOTISH they DOTISH.

Well, YOU of all people should know about certified and complete madman, since you are one yourself. How about this, Keyan never knew were the girl was, he was just made a convenient scape goat for the real perpetrators. And these perpetrators have connections… all you get my drift?

APP your opening statement leaves much to be desired! We never heard you on the abduction, no concern for the child was expressed. As soon as the story comes out about the police shooting Kian here you go with your “gravely hurt.” You all to bandwagonist trying to make mileage with the dead man. Stop using unfortunate incidents to make political mileage.
Its rather unfortunate that the abductor was killed before the child was found and we hold the police responsible but come on is this your main concern in all this? Is that what it took to hear from you? Shame!

Some of you all dumb as rocks and just say what you want from the comfort of your home. Try spending time in bush whole day chasing after a madman and then come back and talk. You all think the police wanted to kill the man? smh best APP go and sit down somewhere and think of something more constructive to put their time into instead of trying to make political mileage from a tragedy

Sorry! This is an attempt to become relevant by a political party that imploded a few months ago. It is all over for them.

It’s like blasphemy to refer to this organization as a police force. Roosevelt has given them a basket to carry water.

They (the Armed Forces of Dominica) are:
*mostly comprised of political operatives of the ruling party
*new recruits are not the best of society
*training and resources are abysmally lacking
*the mentality of the Death Squad officers is unreserved loyalty to Roosevelt instead of serving and protecting the people.

It’s sad! All the most important public organizations and institutions in Dominica are hamstrung by Roosevelt’s political narrow mindedness and severe intellectual deficiency.

Ibo France, you need to remain quiet some of the time of even all of the time. Stop with the term “blasphemy” unless it refers to the Almighty and Holy God. Do not parallel the word of man against man with the word of man against God, or else you do not know the meaning of the term “blasphemy”

I thought that APP would take this opportunity to tell us what they would do differently to deal with the situation at hand. Instead here they are continuing to pimp the unfortunate situation for Kernisha and her family and for deceased Keyan. Why doesn’t this wolf in sheep’s clothing just go away and maybe lend a hand to Alex Bruno in his circus act part two.

Is it coincidence that Kian died exactly as Daniel carbon stated, and quote “Dominicans have a right to exercise self-defense”. Mentally ill person welding a cutlass attacks officers and officers exercising their right to self-defense shots and kills Kian. I’m wondering, is it that the police were just following orders as stated publicly by the commissioner of police? All these military training and they could not apprehend the guy by disarming and subduing him? Especially knowing that the little girl is still out there… Smfh números officers against one mentally unstable guy with a cutlass.
