Sandy Daley-Ledgister, hailing from Jamaica but raised in Canada, has clinched a prestigious role as the official host of the black carpet at the highly anticipated 2024 Black Diamond Awards. This gala, marking the pinnacle of Black History Month festivities, is set to dazzle attendees on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the opulent Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Canada, with black carpet coverage commencing at 6pm EST.

Serving as a platform for communal celebration and recognition, The 9th Annual RBC Black Diamond Ball embodies the spirit of achievement within the Black community. Under the theme “A Tribute to You,” the event promises an evening of reflection and honor.

The black carpet will be graced by luminaries from various areas of entertainment, sports, politics, and civic leadership. Daley-Ledgister, known for her dynamic and vibrant persona, is poised to leverage her expertise in television and radio to deliver an unforgettable experience.

“Being chosen for this esteemed role is a true privilege,” she remarks. “The Black Diamond Awards has a rich history of attracting diverse and discerning attendees, and I am thrilled to contribute to what promises to be an extraordinary event.”

Renowned Soca artist Alison Hinds will take center stage at this year’s Ball, infusing Toronto’s winter with the pulsating rhythms of the Caribbean carnival.

“Alison’s inclusion as the headliner is a source of tremendous excitement for us,” explains Shawn Cuffie, Operations Director for ArtXperiential Projects. “Traditionally, R&B has closed out the evening, but we’re always keen on shaking things up and showcasing the full spectrum of Black culture.”

Guided by journalist Maggie John, the event boasts a stellar lineup featuring performances by The Soul Motivators and The Vocalist winner Osé Allenotor. Presenters include former Ontario MPP Mitzie Hunter, culinary television expert Trudy Stone, psychotherapist Roxanne Francis, and a special mental health message from Dr. Natasha Williams.

Daley-Ledgister’s production company, Chocolate Dollz Productions, will oversee the capturing of her team’s footage on the black carpet.

The Black Diamond Awards broadcast is scheduled for March 3, at 5pm on Citytv.
