National Bank of Dominica Ltd. was awarded Good Corporate Citizen Awards for Customer Service and Cultural Development at the 2012 Best Corporate Citizen Awards ceremony hosted by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).
Managing Director, Mr. Michael Bird stated, “We are very pleased to be recognized by the ECCB as winners in these two categories. ECCB’s recognition reinforces our position as a leading corporate citizen in Dominica and in the region and reflects the dedicated efforts of our team and their commitment to improving customer service to our valued customers and preserving Dominica’s cultural heritage.”
The awards for Customer Service and Cultural Development are two out of seven areas identified by ECCB as critical to delivering a positive impact on community or country. Participating banks must have programmes or initiatives that demonstrate their commitment to corporate social responsibility. 9 banks participated in the awards this year. The Best Corporate Citizen Award went to Bank of St. Lucia who won in the areas of Educational Development, Community Outreach & Social Services and Sports. National Bank of Dominica Ltd. captured the awards for Customer Service and Cultural Development while Republic Bank (Grenada) Ltd. captured the awards for Environmental Awareness and Financial Education & Empowerment.
The ECCB initiated the Best Corporate Citizen Award among ECCU Commercial Banks in 1997. The award recognises commercial banks which operate within the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) for implementing, participating in and promoting initiatives and on-going programmes designed to improve the quality of life of the people they serve.
The awards ceremony was held at the ECCB Headquarters, St Kitts and Nevis, on 7 November, following the presentation of the 17th Sir Arthur Lewis Memorial Lecture.
Congratulations NBD! Keep up the good work.
i can see now…..
CON Grat u lations
It is rather surprising that no one has yet extended congratulations to the National Bank of Dominica.
Is it that the people that the bank serves do not actually expereince the level of customer service for which it is being praised by the ECCB?
I do not think so. Perhaps, this is simply not a sensational topic as the dual citizenship case or the manifestation of increasing corruption in the society.
I, however, hope that I can start the stream of congratulatory comments to the National Bank of Dominica for winning this award as a good corporate citicen according to the ECCB.
Respectfully

Agreed, if it was political, there would be a lot of posts. smh.
Congratulations NBD.
