Civic group to promote Dominica in US

dno news 1Dominican businesses in the northeast United States are being presented with a platform to expose their products and services to thousands of Dominican and international consumers.

The Association of Dominicans in the Northeast USA, Inc. (ADNExUS) has organized its first Dominica Business and Cultural Expo, which is also meant to help promote Dominica at the grass roots level. It is being planned with the support of Know Your Culture Dance Troupe, the Dominica United Cricket Club, the North American Association for the Advancement of La Plaine and the Northeast USA Wesley Chapter, and will be held at Knights of Columbus in Union, New Jersey on Sunday 23 August 23rd from 1pm – 5pm.

Already, a number of Dominican businesses have committed to participate, including cake makers, auto technicians, dress makers and fashion designers, construction companies, artists, authors, insurance brokers and others goods and service providers.

The event will incorporate a “Bring a Friend” component in support of the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA)’s efforts to increase visitor arrivals to the Nature Island by encouraging Dominicans to invite their friends to experience the beauty and vibrancy of the island. In this regard, Dominicans are being encouraged to take their non-Dominican friends to this inaugural event. Admission is free.

A delightful cultural programme is being planned to showcase a taste of Dominican lifestyle and familiarize attendees to the wide range of experiences that are available to visiting Dominicans and their friends.

A limited number of booths are still available and will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Dominicans in the northeast USA interested in exhibiting are asked to send an email to [email protected] for a Vendor Application form and for additional information. The exhibitor cost is nominal.
