Wednesday April 27th 2011 is designated as Administrative Professional’s Day (Secretary’s Day) around the globe.
In light of this, the Dominica Association of Administrative Professionals (DAAP) is once again preparing to celebrate Administrative Professionals Week. This will be commemorated under the theme “Administrative
Professionals – Equipped for the Task – Ready to Achieve”.
Over the years the Association has hosted an Annual Luncheon for Administrative Professionals and their managers. This year the Association will do things differently by hosting its first ever “Administrative Professionals Excellence Awards”, where the achievements of Administrative staff will be recognized for the excellent service rendered to their organizations in various categories.
The categories are namely, Administrative/Support Services, General Administration, Special Accomplishment, Team Spirit, Administrative/Supervisory Capacity, Longevity/Years of Service as well as Administrative Professional of the Year. In addition, a church service will be held at the Christian Union Mission Church of Roseau on Sunday May 1, 2011 in observance of the day.
The aim of the Association is to provide an organization for Administrative Assistants and to promote the interest of all persons engaged in the practice of administrative duties. Additionally to, educate and upgrade Office Professionals on the island. Our goals are achieved through workshops, seminars and other educational activities. The Association is a registered non-profit organization and has been in existence for the past eight (8) years.
It is against this backdrop that the DAAP would like to solicit the collaboration of managers’ by nominating an Administrative Staff for an award by completing nomination forms that were sent out by the Association to their organizations.
