You want to identify unstable people in Dominica just visit DNO and you will find them there. They are there every day, hour and minute advertising unstable minds with farfetched fantasies of living in an unstable society. They are so badly affected with corruption and malpractice that they even believe that the country is unstable and the government corrupted. Can you imagine that these mad people have demanded that Skerrit command the judiciary and police to drop the cases against the Salisbury rioters who raged civil war against their peaceful neighbours who travel the highway? They are indeed demanding that Skerrit join them corruption practice. What a laugh!

I would have expected at least 200 comments of displeasure from the citizens of Dominica and I would also expect the UWP to speak out very loudly against this introduction of a new stealth tax! Don’t let the government get away with this one, it’s going to affect everyone in Dominica in one way or another, car owners directly, taxi and bus driver, truck drivers, fishermen, bus passengers, electricity customers…in a word it will have a knock on effect and it will be felt by everyone in the country. This has to stop and this needs to be reversed, there is NO justification in this price increase. Let’s start to hold this government accountable!

Prices stable on the international market and unstable in Dominica.
Everything unstable in this country. Just look at the trend. The prices of gas went up and stayed up just before the backpay to collect enough to pay Civil Servants. We, yes we, the had pressed tax payers had to bear the brunt of the back pay to Civil Servants. I am happy for them, but my goodness not on our backs that already breaking. These people don’t care, they don’t have a conscience, its about them and not us. Dictators will go as far as kill the people who put them in office for them to stay in power. See what happening again, see for yourselves, my peopleeee… Gas prices at the pump going up again to collect for their shortfalls. There are teachers who have to get back pay still, they promise them in July. Bon dieu they want to kill us. People open your eyes, there is no reason to raise gas prices again.

  9. VAT, TAX, More Tax
    June 22, 2015

What other way that DLP incompetent Gov’t generates revenue, but through VAT, tax on goods, services, fuel and other hidden taxes?

Imagine a Minister publicly claimed that VAT is the main income earner for Dominica. Not agriculture, not manufacturing, not tourism. Those areas have been neglected. So they taxing the already struggling people. to pay for their largesse, Big Gov’t, Ministers like peas, advisors for so.

Didn’t Skerritt and his DLP fool the people of Dominica with their false boasts about cheaper gas and diesel at the pumps, when they set up Petro Caribe at Jimmit? Instead of cheaper fuel and electricity, Venezuela was begging Gov’t to pay their debt of about $60 million. Where did all that money go?

What incompetence? DLP Gov’t bankrupt of ideas. They are only interested in themselves. Some of the cabal making millions selling passports, while the majority sucking salt. Taxes and more taxes and more squandering of the people’s money.

Here we go. How can the government justify this increase of gas and diesel? Most recently prices for crude oil have been trading at US$ 62 to US$ 65 and the pump price in Dominica is at EC$ 13.50 now. Last year at the hight of crude oil price of around US$ 114.00 the pump price in Dominica was around EC$15.20. All you do the math, this just does not add up and we should demand a detailed calculation from the government for this increase of pump prices. You all know what is happening here now, Skerrit is using the pump prices for gas and diesel to gain additional revenue for the empty state coffers, or in other words he is using the pump price now as a hidden tax increase on the people of Dominica. Of course he will not say so, I rather expect that when he presents the new budget he will tell us that once again this year taxes have not been increased due to his prudent running of finances. Why do we put up with his deceit of the citizens? Isn’t it time to say enough is enough?

NOT AGAIN….. Why is the price going up again. Why is the Govt. increasing the taxes on people through the introduction of price increases on fuel. When fuel price was $100 the price per gallon was 15 or 16 dollars. Now it is 60 on average it is priced at $13+. Why is it the govt. does not publish the price buildup, what is the secret

If my calculation is correct according to the information given in this item the price has increased by $1.39 as it was originally $12.11 why is it that when there is a decrease in price it is never more than $0,50 cents.
