NCCU launches major products

President of the NCCU Dexter Ducreay shows off the new International Debit Cart

The National Credit Union (NCCU) has launched two major products as it seeks to further enhance its services to its members.

At a press briefing at its Roseau branch Friday, the NCCU launched its “International Debit Card” and its “Quick Cash Now for Now Loan.”

President of the NCCU Dexter Ducreay explained that the international debit card means that, “it can be used anywhere at any time.”

“The card can be used in all ATM machines with the Visa logo, it can be used to purchase products online and at all points of sale terminals in Dominica and overseas. In addition, the card will be linked to the account of your choice, you will be able to see all your accounts with NCCU and withdraw in cash a maximum of EC$1,000,” Ducreay said.

He called on members to “come in to any branch” to request the new international debit card.

Durcreay explained that  with “Now for Now Loans” a customer can recieve a loan within half an hour. “We, as a Credit Union have been searching for more ways to assist our members and I am pleased to today say that we have the Now for Now Loan … it means that members can come in for a loan with a salary deduction and within half an hour get a loan of up to $8,000,” Ducreay said.

Present at the function were members of staff and volunteers from the various committees and Barry Walsh president of BEVERTEC, a Canadian based company which is responsible for the software of the international debit card.

To get a “now 4 now” loan all you need is to be a member and work at a place which agrees for salary deductions to be implemented. If you already have a loan no problem as I said all you need is to be a member of NCCU St. Paul Branch St. David Branch etc

Have we forgotten that the credit union belongs to its Members, and Members sets the terms and conditions. Therefore there is no devil and no detail NCCU’s information is open for all to see

I have been a member since 1980 and have my hard earned Dollars at the credit union{like most other Dominicans}, while living outside of Dominica and still saving at the NCCU. Just asking? What would be my chances of securing a Loan. Not that I need one”. But in case I may need a loan in the future?

why is always dexter ducreay thats always representing the credit union? I need to know about the CEO who they are paying a salary to do his work. if thats the case ,the credit union is run by micro management. I believe its a shame ,the board should relax and allow the staff run the credit union, who poor people money is paying…..just an observation.

I think that is great.. I live in the US,will definitely transfer my acct to the Credit Union on my next visit..Dealing with the local banks is a big waste of time..to have an international ATM card with direct access to funds with the VISA logo is great..

      September 30, 2012

Yea, you are so so right. But life is short so lets take as many LOANS as we can and enjoy life. We don’t have much longer to live here so we won’t have to worry about the LOANS when we are gone.Let’s just pay what we can in the mean time.

      Good move NCCU. LOVE IT.

CHeck any of the NCCU branches for the information. Its very simple especially if you have sufficient savings to cover the amount you want.

      September 28, 2012

the information is it is not now for now. You got to be walking up and down and even see officers that don’t want to see you or resch  eduling you just because you late…as if they have never been to an appointment late! stupes

If you are happen to live in one of the other areas where the branches are like pointe michel, vieille case etc, do your business there instead at the main branch. I did business at the main branch and some of the workers in teh loans department make you feel like is a favor they doing you by giving you a loan. Like you have to beg them…trust me, they need to get down from their high horses.

        September 30, 2012

Yes Mr. Ducreay you need to look into the customer service provided in the loan department. You have to go back and forth back like is beg you begging, and you can’t make an appointment, you have to sit and wait each time. Loan officers not providing necessary information and answering customers questions. Time is money for everyone. Dominicans living in DA and abroad who are doing business with loan department spend too much time back and forth, things could be much simpler and organized.Get feed back from loan applicants so you all can correct some of the process.

It,s the same procedure as getting a loan before just that it is quicker; right away u will know if u getting the loan or not, they are very quick indeed I’m loving it.

    September 28, 2012

really? I hope so! No securities?
What about people that have existing loans and want a quick cash? I know it’s not quick as it sounds and is a whole weeks and more interview process! Hmmm. Let’s see now!!

    • Anonymous
      September 28, 2012

Lets say you have 6000 on your account and you want to take a quick cash loan of $5000. But you already have a loan of lets say 2000.

You can take the quickcash loan and they will deduct your current loan balance from it.

You would need to do a salary deduction (if you do not already have one), bring in your most recent pay slip, and a photo ID. You can get this done in one day or two for the maximum.

Oh, and you must pay $25 processing fee.

        September 30, 2012

no processing fee on the first request, and it is not quick cash it is now for now
