The new Chairman of the Caribbean Forum (CARIFORUM) Trade Minister of Dominica Collin McIntyre said making benefits from the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) more tangible is going to be his priority.
Speaking at the 19th meeting of the council of Ministers of CARIFORUM at Fort Young Hotel Friday morning, McIntyre told ministers that the EPA must be discussed.
“My deepest interest will be in what arrangements we are making to make and to ensure that the potential benefits of the EPA can be translated into real, tangible and visible benefits to the people who we as ministers represent,” he said.
The EPA creates a free trade area between the European Union and African, Caribbean and Pacific States.
The CARIFORUM Chairman also called on member states to deepen cooperation with Latin America.
