The dish washing liquid brand “SQUEEZY” became a household name for us in the Caribbean over 30 years ago. The product is synonymous with squeaky clean dishes.
About two years ago, the name changed from “SQUEEZY” to “QUIX”. The name change seems to have boosted consumer satisfaction and loyalty to the product. QUIX is a quality lime juice-based brand for total grease removal every day.
Unilever Caribbean Limited together with its local distributor H.H.V. Whitchurch & Co. Ltd. hosted the first ever QUIX Radiothon, held on DBS radio with popular host Kimara Hurtault, every Wednesday and Friday mid-mornings from July 14th until August 27th, 2010.
Participants from all across the country called in to the radiothon and attempted to say the fastest tongue-twister “QUIX kills grease quik!” five times repetitively. Sixteen winners in total each received one year supply free of QUIX dish washing liquid and a QUIX shirt, amongst other tokens. CONGRATULATIONS to our 16 winners of the QUIX Radio Thon!
This event was sponsored by Unilever Caribbean Limited and its local distributor, H.H.V. Whitchurch & Co. Ltd.
When I was a young lad in the 1950s in England, the first dish-washing agent produced was called ‘Squeezy’. ‘Fairy’ the current best-seller in Britain and now the architypal liquid soap, didn’t come out until 1960. Squeezy smelled the same as kiddies’ bubbles solution.
it was a fun and unique form of advertising. Thumbs up to Whitchurch and the quix ppl
