CCM endorses statement by Electoral Reform Group

Loftus Durand addressing electoral reform protest

The Concerned Citizens Movement would like to publicly endorse a press statement put out by the Electoral Reform Group on September 13th, 2019. Particularly, we strongly support the five demands laid out in that Press release as follows:

1. Allow the Organization of American States (OAS), the Commonwealth
Secretariat and Caricom mission time to submit their report.

2. Allow the stakeholders sufficient time to review the report and, if required, take the
necessary action.

3. Assist the Electoral Commission in expediting the cleansing of the electors
list and issuance of voter identification cards.

4. Allow the Electoral Commission time to execute their responsibilities as
prescribed by law.

5. Most importantly allow the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica their
indomitable right to Free and Fair Elections.

As a civil society group, the CCM has listened to the calls of many Dominicans for electoral reform and has long been championing that cause. Therefore, we are quite aware of the extensive work that the Electoral Reform Group has done in this situation. Consequently, our support for their effort is unwavering.

Hence, the Concerned Citizens (CCM) states categorically that the Prime Minister should honor the demands made in this press release and not call elections before the conditions for free and fair elections are met.

While CCM,DFP, UWP and the other Civic Society Groups are in the frontline, some of us are silently in the background awaiting the last Frontline move to the streets by these groups, to start physically and literally showing our support! We are sending a serious warning to the one-man corrupt rogue regime prime mistake and his police goons, that if they ever touch and hurt anyone standing up, protesting and demonstrating for their legal democratic and human rights, we the People’s Power will retaliate and have them regret the day they were conceived!!! They shall pay darely!!!

All of you NGOs, the UWP, DFP, CCM and the right thinking, law abiding Dominicans have been talking for far too long. The time for talk is over, it’s now time for ACTION!! SHUT DOWN THE COUNTRY!! Do what the Puerto Ricans recently did. Bring the Capital City to a standstill. Without sacrifice there will be no progress. Dictatorship must never be allowed to take firm root in the Nature Isle. Skerrit’s and his parasites must not be allowed to run rough shod over the right thinking, law abiding citizens. This one profoundly corrupt and divisive man had done too many wrongs to Dominica. He has vandalized the office of the Prime Minister, castrated the economy, irreparably soiled the image of the country, can’t accurately account for the CBI and PetroCaribe monies, keeps on using the police and the judicial system to persecute ( not prosecute) the leadership of the Opposition. Hand the man his pink slip next election.

Outside of cleansing of the list and comprehensive election reform I see civil unrest on the horizon. I hope they don’t arrest me for saying that but that’s how I see it. Should Skerrit rush to call election before the above is done, he would be making it clear that he really wants to see the blood of Dominicans shed on the streets as he told us during the 2014 elections.

Right on Mr. Durand. Skerrits reign is nearing the end. Electoral reform and audited CBI accounts are an absolute must. If he can’t or won’t deliver he has to go. We are not here to serve him, he is here to serve us. The quicker he gets this in his hollow scull the better for all concerned!!

All these recommends make sense to me, but do not lose sight of the fact that the PM is seeing that his reign of power is seriously challenged, and could well ignore all the recommendations and act irrationally!!!!!
It is necessary to have a very good plan (b),,,, in place .
Remember he stuttered that “”he run things in Dominica””? When he stutters his arrant garbage and gibberish, he has even told his zealots not to criticize him, criticize God instead … !!!

Roosevelt, please listen to the people. If not, this will end in tragedy and your legacy not worth the paper it is written on. You do not want to end up as a bad stain on the history of Dominica, do you?

He is listening to the people but not to you. You are a waste of time. Skerrit has been doing enough for Dominica and continues to do more. The new PMH and a new hospital for Marigot and Portsmouth. Also, 12 new health centers around the country. Go study medicine so you can head one of them, stupid. Tell Lennox to listen to the people and pay Pinard his money he owes the man. These people you say that are not working, go find work for them, go create work for them. Skerrit cannot do it alone. Stop jumping on the bandwagon and think for yourself. You all have gotten hungry for CBI money. You all wont get any, bums. Whey de money….I got the money in my pocket. You wont get it, hungry man.
