Children stories committee dedicates its second children’s book to Kernisha Ettienne

Kernisha Etienne

The Stories by children committee, which forms part of the Fernance and Cyrilla Family Club (FCFC), has dedicated its second children’s book to Kernisha Ettienne.

Ettienne was reported missing in 2022 and her whereabouts are still unknown.

Stories by Children Volume 2 – “When I Grow Up” was launched on December 17, 2022, at the University of the West Indies Open Campus (UWI).

“The launch was well attended with well-wishers, the proud winners of the literary competition, and also the family authors.  During the launch, the authors got an opportunity to share excerpts of their stories and one parent encouraged others to get their children involved in reading and writing activities,” FCFC stated in a press release

All authors were given a copy of the book and the first-place winners of the literary competition received a tablet.

“It was indeed a proud moment for all present, especially the young authors.”

Stories by Children Volume 1 – “Family” has been available for sale for almost a year, with very encouraging feedback from the public.

The Club is also already anticipating exciting entries for Stories by Children Volume 3, under the theme “Connect the Dots!”. Further information on Volume 3 will be given in future press releases.

Mrs. Nicole Toussaint Jno-Baptiste, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Fernance and Cyrilla Family Club encourages the public to purchase Stories by Children, Volumes 1 and 2.

She stated that having published authors at such a young age marks a very important milestone and achievement for both authors and their families and they need our support.

Mrs. Jno-Baptiste further encourages the parents to get their children engaged in reading and writing on a regular basis.

Both titles, Stories by Children Volume 1- “Family” and Stories by Children Volume 2 -“When I Grow Up”, are available for purchase from family members and online on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Volume 1 is also available at Jays’ Book Store.

It is unfortunate that trained police officers are so dumb. There is no evidence that the mad man was ever at the complainant home. There is evidence that little Kernisha was at the home.So how did she vanish without a trace? The answer is she was transported out of the area.According to a report the child was taken home from church for food at about 23.00 hrs.Who was the first person on the scene at 23.00hrs after the alleged cutlass attack?Mr Poto UWP supporter from Warner.WHY.This case stinks of a coverup. It is my belief if the mad man ever went to the house he saw or heard the child being abused.

Perhaps you had something to do with it. Red supporters are known for their kinky habits.

Truly sad that this young girl was not found.

There are so many crimes that go unsolved on the island (never forget them all including our Song Sistah Nelly Raffoul and Trevy Felix killed in 2015 but nothing was done).

Sad remembering the souls lost so young. It still hurts to read this about my home island. Take care of each other folks; keep love alive in your daily walking. Jah bless.

Very sad that no one yet knows where the young school girl is. I pray God she is well wherever she is and that one day the good Lord will carry her back home to her parents where she belongs.

It’s your political master and his cabal to blame for the demise of this poor child. First they blame it one somebody that can’t really defend himself and then they have him shot. Where are the investigations of the disappearance of the child and the death of the accused man? Where? I smell the biggest rat in the history of our country. Am I the only one who smells foul play? Why do Dominicans refuse to hold their so called leaders to account???????

Such a beautiful, intelligent, affectionate child gone too soon without a trace. This hurts.

Did we get the whole truth about the disappearance of this little one? I feel compelled to question again the action of the police to kill probably the only person who may have possessed information as to the whereabouts of Kernisha.

This shows that the present law enforcement organisation is a group of bumbling, trigger happy fools.

Let’s hope that her disappearance would create the awareness in society that our children need much more attention and protection. To the government, we need to create a special unit in the police organisation solely dedicated to missing and abused children. Name it in honour of Kernisha as her ‘legacy’.

Here we go again with a stupid introduction. “At one time no body knew who you were.” Really? So now she is probably dead; we know her now? A lot of crap talk. I’m laughing 😆 “Now you [are] a celebrity. I tell you – Only in Dominica. Yep, she’s listening. I want to lean how to speak and communicate with the dead. This is so beyond belief.

Your comment evokes positive emotions. Everything I watch a photo of this smiling, little star I wonder about all that she could have become. So many wonderful possibilities.

I’m also haunted by the thought that we all let you down. Tears!

She could be still alive; who knows. If this was my child I would search for her until I find her of I lose all my strength and resources. Wouldn’t rely on “you know who” for no halfway search. People put out rewards for their missing dogs; this little girl wasn’t treated fairly. But de Most High will bring out the hidden deeds. If I was this child parent I would not consent to no darn book to be written or “dedicated” to my child. How are they going to “dedicate” the book to her?
