Outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Dominica, His Excellency Lin Xianjiang has announced that he will be leaving his post “very soon” to embark on a new job in Beijing, China. He made the announcement during an address at a special reception for the 20th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of Dominica and the People’s Republic of China held at the Chinese Embassy in Morne Daniel on Wednesday.
On November 22, 2021, H.E. Lin Xianjiang, presented his credentials to former President of Dominica, H.E Charles Savarin. Ambassador Lin serves as the sixth Ambassador of China to Dominica.
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Dominica and friends from all walks of life for their strong support during my tenure and I will be leaving my post very soon and embarking on a new job in China, Beijing. I also want to use this festive occasion to bid farewell to all my friends in Dominica.”
He continued, “After returning to China I will continue to pay attention to China-Dominica cooperation and the development of all bilateral relations.”
According to Ambassador Lin, for the past 20 years, “we have witnessed the steady and deepening development of our bilateral relations, especially in recent years.”
He said China has always firmly supported Dominica in pursuing development.
“The two governments have consistently coordinated and cooperated in international and multi-lateral affairs, joining us to address the issues of common concerns of developing countries, such as climate change and disaster prevention and mitigation,” he stated.
Standing firmly together amidst the ever-changing global situation Ambassador Lin said the two countries have become each other’s most reliable partners.
“Currently, China is actively engaged in the construction of the post-hurricane schools,” he noted. “Over the past two [or] more years under the guidance of the presidency and Prime Minister Skerrit, China-Dominica relations have entered a golden age. I am honoured to witness the continuous development of China-Dominica friendship.”
He calls to further strengthen communication and exchanges between both political parties.
“The communist party of China and the Dominica Labour Party have always had similar positions…,” he noted. “China is willing to further communicate with Dominica on sharing of governance.”
Ambassador Lin went on to state that China is willing to work with Dominica, joining to promote global development initiatives, global security initiatives, and global civilization initiatives,” and be dedicated to international and regional affairs.”
“Let’s look forward to the next 20 years together and wish that the friendship between the People’s Republic of China and the Commonwealth of Dominica remains unfailing and brings greater benefits to the people of both countries,” Ambassador Lin said.
People’s Republic of China Permanent Security Council member. Dominica UNARMED and we will remain like this – recognizing our position geopolitically we can see why we cannot facilitate a military base and the People’s Republic of China will definitely see why. They have already evaluated our shores like the USA does even while they are not there.
People’s Republic of China looking at the make up of our government and knowing that they are one of the countries with Great diplomats etc and all the amenities of a superpower state – looking at the Government of Dominica make-up Prime Minister was flirting with US citizen women – China firing their diplomats for engaging in such as National Security Concern – see why they would remain confined to their embassy Our foreign minister is married to a foreign national – same thing – a national security concern by discussing certain issues with them, All the other Parl Rep and government ministers who have US citizenship and residency .
Relations with the People’s Republic of China is not the issue is what the sitting government used the relations for. China does not dictate what you do – sovereign full republic. Diplomatic Relations with People’s Republic of China is not illegal it is LEGIT – the USA has relations with them – they have a seat at the United Nations. What’s the Deal? Just looking on the surface alone – Taiwan is not recognized by the United States – NO DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS – to engage economically nations have to acknowledge
the one China policy – the USA did- the result they trade with them and sell their recycle to them and they buy and sell, and their businesses are out there.
Dominica went looking to SELL PASSPORTS etc
People’s Republic of China – a superpower-population, size of territory, military might- and a nuclear state with its TRIAD – Nuclear bomb sea air and land as well HIGH PROFILE SPYING. Their embassy staff entails exactly what the USA has. Dominica HAD NO PLAN.
If there is a war between the western countries and China take a guess where China will be putting a Naval and Air Force base in the Carribean with the assistance of the Prime Minister?
What benefits does China perceive to receive from giving aid to Dominica? I am not passing judgment, but I am curious as to what they see rhat they want. Most relationships of this type are transactional.
Dominica had a Taiwanese embassy and now China. Geopolitics – at the United Nations there are certain issues they have and would want support of other nations – nations they have diplomatic relations with. We as a nation, were we involved politically we would use this opportunity to bring resolutions to the United Nations that would benefit ALL Nations using the Permanent Members state ON OUR SHORES.
We would be making a name for ourselves at the United Nations, but we seem to get star struck- we would also be making or promoting ourselves Dominica.
Any stronger and we will be a Chinese state. what stronger bonds you need. colonialism all over again. Unless we see increase export that empower dominica independence and values I think this is nothing but a smoke screen for Chinese global conquest. any man who sells his own country for personal gain is nothing but a son of a B and should be sentences to the gallows.
“The Communist Party of China and the Dominica Labour Party have ALWAYS HAD SIMILAR POSITIONS…” China is willing to further communicate with Dominica on sharing of GOVERNANCE “.
Dominicans please take note ! These are NOT my words. I always thought the relations were established between the GOVERNMENTS of both countries. This ambassador states differently . You can’t say later you didn’t know.
Mr Skerrit, I once again call on you sir, to make the contents of the MOU signed 20 years ago to the public, PLEASE !
Don’t know about the others but I will definitely not stand for this !!
As i intimated earlier, i have NO issues with China or the Chinese people. They did not wake up one morning and decide to come here. Skerrit invited them, Skerrit is the issue. The man is not just stupid, but he is an inveterate liar, he has a forked tongue, he is sleeky and heartless. Skerrit do we have competitive bidding for those projects? Who owns them? How do you feel that their construction have zero multiplier effect on the economy? Folks has anyone seen the MOU? The Chinese are a sophiscated people. Imagine they were discussing an MOU with fools like Skerrit, tete calbas Austrie, and other non Dominicans. Remember Austrie said they negotiated for 19 hours on the trot? No breakfast, no lunch,, no water break, no restroom break, no stand up and stretch, no snacks? Just negotiation! Labourites clapped when Austrie vomitted this nonsense to them. So imagine what could be in this MOU. Dominica is in a trap, and Starboy of Stupidity has long been trapped.
