Convent High School PTA announces winners of fundraising raffle

The Parent Teacher Association of the Convent High School embarked on a mission to raise funds towards a project to install outdoor seating on the eastern side of the Convent High School. This would provide an area where the girls can sit down to have lunch or sit together to work. This is a project that the current PTA deemed extremely important. The project was earmarked by the immediate past PTA, who had conducted a survey to determine which projects members considered a priority.

This is now being brought to fruition by the current PTA, who have already acquired preliminary designs. Fundraising efforts have commenced with a very successful raffle. According to PTA President Mrs Maxine Alleyne-Esprit, there will be other initiatives. “We intend to reach out more directly for donations from old girls of the school and from other benefactors and organizations who feel that it is a good project to contribute towards.”

Mrs Alleyne-Esprit, on behalf of the PTA extended her sincere appreciation to the sponsors. “To Jungle Bay Resort, Rosalie Bay Resort & Spa, Fort Young Hotel, Do It Centre & Jays Ltd. We really want to thank you for your contribution to this.”

There were two first prizes of two nights for two at Jungle Bay Resort and Rosalie Bay Resort & Spa respectively, which were copped by Namik Fabien & Nathan Walsh. Decima Seraphine won a night for two at the Fort Young Hotel with breakfast and Rianna Martin, won a counter-top cake mixer compliments Do It Centre. Chiara Phillip, Lizanne Cuffy and Naomi Vidal, all students of the Convent High School, won gift certificates compliments Jays Ltd as a reward for selling the most raffle sheets.

The PTA also wishes to the faculty and students of the Convent High School, the Fundraising Committee of the PTA as well as parents and families of the students, and the general public for their tremendous efforts in support of this fundraising drive.
