A 17-year-old of Mahaut who pleaded guilty to manslaughter yesterday will wait until March 17 to face his sentence.
Esau Hector had caused the death of his 42-year-old godfather Antoine Anthony on June 12, 2009 in the community.
He had inflicted a single stab wound to the Anthony’s upper abdomen which penetrated his lung and subsequently killed him.
According to the facts presented by Director of Public Prosecutions Gene Pestaina Anthony was stabbed when he sought to correct Hector who had been rude to an elderly person in the area.
Pestaina said Anthony died of hypovolemic shock due to the wound.

the government again. there is clear distinction b/tween the court and the government…….so the law is there to be used…ig why cant a man be sentence to death when he kill another person? ah? isn’t that law? so hat cant the government do when the judge says i sending him to do community service or 4 years in jail? we want to lay all blame at the foot of government when people fail to do dr work they are paid to do.

Boy, I remember in my days if you were ever caught saying a bad word, or past Ma so and so or Mr so and so straight without greeting them good day, you got a smacking from them and another one when your parents learnt of it.
Today, the yute man disrespecting the elderly, being called on by another elder, his god-father nonetheless, and the yute turn round and kill the man.
We have surely deteriorated as a society. And the best joke is that he wasn’t caught with a couple pounds of weed, so is a slap on the wrist for him. This is what happens when we spare the rod and spoil the child.

The Government need to take some harder stand when dealing with crimes today, some of those people needs to be Hanged. By doing this some body will think before they act.
