A Portsmouth man has to cough up $15,000 by next Friday following convictions of possession and intent to supply cannabis, or he could face several months in jail.
Boniface James, who pleaded guilty to having over 900 grams of cannabis before Chief Magistrate Evelina Baptiste today, was sentenced to pay $5,000 for possession and $10,000 for the intent to supply cannabis charge.
He is required to pay by June 11,2010 or in default spend six and seven months in jail respectively.
The quantity of cannabis was found at James’ home this morning during a drug squad patrol.
The sentences are to run concurrently.
