Police have confirmed that a man died from stab wounds following a fight with his brother early this morning in Bense.
Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Kenth Matthew, said the dead man has been identified as 55-year-old Alex Toussaint of Bense.
Matthew said one man is now in police custody in connection with Toussaint’s death.
The incident occurred at about 1:00 this morning.

While the government cannot be said to be directly responsible for these types of incidents it does sound an alarm for some form of intervention. Two of the many roles of government comprise of health and safety of its people. That being said if such crimes and bad behaviours identified by most of the writers are on a rise government need to invest in policing and programs to deter and help the mentally challenge respectively. Last evening I thought that things are very quiet in DA; no murders and hoped that I would not hear of any more. Wishful thinking. As I always say we never know what we will hear one day to another and one second to another, etc. This is one more proof.

I don’t know the full story of this incident but some of us in the community know how he would terorize his own wife and family. I do not condone violence but let’s face it some of these criminals can only be stopped through violence. I pray for the family and I hope the deceased rest in peace.

Are you for big government or a reasonable size government that our tax money can tolerate? A policeman on every street of Dominica will drain the treasury in one month!!! No other public servant will get paid much less to have other services. So you can already see that we are becoming our own worst enemy in this country simple by the way we behave generally – we depend on government for everything – things we can do ourselves – like putting some cash aside for a rainy day – to repair what we have purchased like a stove or wash machine. Every time you buy domestic equipment or a car you must do some maintenance – so you must put some cash aside for these repairs; not go up ministry for help to do these things!!! Foolishness.
Government has been taking some deliberate decisions of putting more money back into the hands of workers by lowering income taxes so that people can spend more money and even save some more. While writing this, I am hearing a Police siren, no doubt going after either a driver who is exceeding the speed limit or for some other infraction. For me and for many others, it is not surprising to read and hear of such matters.

Let me further inform you. I reside in Toronto and not a day or few days or week go by there is not some sort of incident, murder, theft, etc. I just got in and soon I will be going out again. In the meantime I thought that I would check DNO (not that I have nothing to do indoors) – sometimes it is an addiction.
I reside in a Country/City and I do not blame the Prime Minister of Canada or the Premier of Ontario if I do not improve my life or try to improve it. The ball rolls in our hands. We have to take charge of our lives. Wherever we reside, we can improve our lives and do something for others, for society as well. God has given us that opportunity but some people do not take advantage of it and seek out and embrace what is possible for them to do which will enhance their lives. The saying: If at first you do not succeed, try again.” Life is an ongoing, trials and errors but if we persevere in the end we will succeed. Always think positive. Put on a happy smile.

It is alleged-meaning that it has not been proven as yet. So a good source can inform the audience that a murder has taken place. When they go to court and all the evidence has been brought forth and the person has been found guilty then it is no longer alleged. This goes down as murder
