Antigua’s Minister of National Security, Dr. Errol Cort, has ordered a full investigation into two incidents in which persons of interest in the October 2012 murder of two Dominicans escaped the custody of police officers of Montserrat and Antigua.
In a press statement on Sunday, December 30, Cort expressed “grave concern at the circumstances surrounding both incidents” and noted that he has been in constant contact with the police, who have been, and continue to provide updates on the situation.
According to reports, the two men were being transported from Montserrat to Antigua on December 23, when upon arrival at the VC Bird International Airport, one them overpowered two officers from Montserrat, grabbed his belongings and made good his escape. Antigua police identified him as Kenroy Mashall. This was the second time Marshall had managed to evade Antigua police.
The other man was taken from the airport to the St. John’s Police Station. However, he managed to escape after he asked to visit the bathroom. He has been identified as Kergus Martin.
The two men remain at large.
In the release, Cort said he wishes to assure the public that everything is being done to recapture the two men and said he will be meeting with the hierarchy of the police force on Wednesday morning to look at ways to improve strategy to prevent and solve gun-related crimes in Antigua.
The bodies of Alix Riviere and Alwin Robin were found on October 4 in an area called Cedar Valley. Both men were shot execution style.
Riviere was found with his hands bound and he was severely beaten while Robin was found nearby.
Law enforcement said they found 35 kilos of packaged cocaine in the house, which is reportedly worth some $1.4-million, but no connections has been made between the drugs and the murder.
Two Antigua ex-policemen have been charged in connection with the drug find.
What a funny movie to watch.
u have to hold them n let them talk
This is wrong on SO many levels!!! Who would have time to take his belongings and run after “overpowering” the 2 officers? And in an airport?! Are these people serious? Such a heinous crime was committed and these lying police officers could not brought in 2 suspects? What those Antiguan official think? We are not stupid!!! Please investigate those good for nothing police officers. It seems that they are waist deep in this crime. Don’t worry time will tell. Let them run but sooner or later they will stop. Justice will be served and the family of these two men will get peace. R.I.P ALWIN and ALIX. Gone but not forgotten
your dept is corrupt, you know it you guys have a price to in dominica and antigua.
Them drug men watching too many CIS movies man! where you gonna run to> Not to the rocks as they will be melting.
Martin there’s noway out you realised that so face the fire now.
I just don’t understand how people can be so wicked, you mean to tell me that they actually let these murderers go….. Babylon wicked see…..
Oh please! Antigua is too damn small to tell me two men evading police. Please! Look for them in potters.
One of the escapee surendered yesterday afternoon
Can we have the tapes of the security cameras please or dd they bought that too???
Well I am a criminal myself and we the public would like the minister of national security of antigua to release the vcbird international security camera so the public can see their entrance n there escape becuase we not no fool
thats the fist time i have heard of such, the guy escape and grabed his passport and disappeared, all those officers such be suspeneded and scotland yard or fbi brought in to investigate those officers
In this case I think the Antiguan police force is corrupted with dirty police and they are afraid of what the guys will say so they are letting them loose.
Dont worry Alwin and Alix you guys will RIP some day soon because they must get them one way or other, he who fight and run away must live to fight another day and they will fight again and loose….. and i say to the Antigan police force shame shame on you i hope for your own safty you all fine these criminals, god help us all.
Apparently, the individuals who are responsible for this report seem to be either silly, or lack knowledge of such incidents.
oh boy. we will get them and also the killers. those people has no heart at all.
What a pack of BULL…
If it was Charles Saverin who was the minister of atonal security in Antigua I wonder what would he have said
Keystone Cops!
THAT IS ALL I CAN DO
If this guy was an escapee before why was’nt he under tight security. This was a plan he did what he was told when we get to Antigua grab you belongings and run.
A well orchestrated police effort!
the last marshall doesnt even resemble this marshall.(are u all trying to evade us to )or its me that need to put on my glasses
we didnt buy the story when they escape .the airport runway to large and long.our country might be small but our brains are not. (mr minister of security ,your robo cops free the criminals)
LMAO!!!!!!! Agreed!!!!!!!!
The antiguan ploice has everything to do with this, they have been in from day one and they claimed that these guys escaped. I fail to believe….
I agree with you this is an inside job no doubt about this but time will tell
And I quote: ” when upon arrival at the VC Bird International Airport, one them overpowered two officers from Montserrat, grabbed his belongings and made good his escape. Antigua police identified him as Kenroy Mashall. This was the second time Marshall had managed to evade Antigua police.”
This is suspicious on so many levels. For one this guy happened to overpower not one but TWO officers of the law. Then he proceeded to retrieve his belongings before making good on his escape. This with them having knowledge that this guy had escaped before. Something stinks and it’s not my mouth.
They need the St. Lucian SSU these fellas does kill people quick down there. they don’t play that.
NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The minister of national security should have call for a inquiry immediately. why these two men escaped police custody in an international airport. The offices in questions should be fired.
THIS WOULD NOT HAPPEN NOWHERE IN THE WORLD IN AN AIRPORT WHERE POLICE OFFICERS HAVE SUSPECTS in CUSTODY.
THE CARIBBEAN caribbean need to come better than that.
Thank God that did not happen in Da.
No doubt, these criminals continue to have inside help and support from the Antiguan Police Force.
Even Sherlock Holmes would have been impressed with the escape! In true Holmesian style Dr. Cort and his associates should eliminate all the impossibilities and whatever remains, however improbable, may be the truth. However they should also bear in mind the advice of Mark Twain that “truth is stranger than fiction…”
These guys did not escape to me the police officers make it looks like an escape the ways its sound like they let them loose.
WHO WILL GUARD THE GUARDS?
Why are the police officers continuing to allow these men to flee? This was no coincidence, we can conclude that these men are gone for good with no proof that they were allowed to escape. All is left to do is just fire these police men.
This is such a farce! Escaping police custody at the airport? Right – for those of us who have travelled through the airport in Antigua, it is virtually impossible for this to occur without some assistance – in fact, a lot of assistance!
I know, all that fence and so many workers moving up and down how he get away. We all know Money talk and BS walk.
Escape my . Dirty antiguaian police. Weak they weak so? If he accustum to escaping custody y send 2 officers chupz!!!!! Cover up! But God it good 99 days for the thief 1 day for the watchman. All u will surly be caught! Smh. RIP Robin
