Burglary at Picard

Reports have surfaced which indicate that there was an incidence of armed burglary of three apartments occupied by Ross University students in Picard.

The burglary took place at Fortune Apartments on the evening of Thursday, June 2.

Information reaching DNO alleges that the burglar entered through windows, and searched the apartments while the students slept. When confronted, he threatened them with a machete.

Proprietor of Fortune Apartments, Andre Fortune believes that the incident is connected to a series of similar robberies in the area but said that the matter is in the hands of the police, who have instructed him to direct to them all inquiries into the matter.

Attempts to secure a statement from the police, as to the associated facts, have proven fruitless. There has been no increase in police presence in the area.

We are missing the biggest point. Robbery is bad enough, but threatening students with a machete? This is serious..and BAD NEWS for Portsmouth and D/ca on a whole. We can’t afford to make the students feel unsafe, there are plenty of other American medical schools in the caribbean so we can’t afford a bad reputation as being a dangerous island.

    To Muslim:

No law abiding citizen supports a thief but we believe in alternative (humane) punishment and rehabilitation, creating invalids certainly does not solve the problem. when u take away the hands of persons that may otherwise be rehabilitated and put to work for themselves what u gonna do with them? do u then propose that these cripples u create become permanent wards of the state, an added burden to an already strained society, that they become a burden on their families or vagrants on our city streets?

i certainly believe that any measure of punishment given to the perpetrators of such crimes should serve to make them repentant of their acts and rehabilitation should also be incorporated in any aspect of penalization but creating cripples is certainly not a viable option, as u may well appreciate it creates a new set of problems.

How can u believe its Grandbay people that are doing robberies in Picard? That is a long way to travel all the way back to Grandbay at night. There are no buses at night so how are the thieves getting back to Grandbay? If they had money for a transport they would not be robbing people. Do you get my point? The thieves are from the Posse area not Grandbay. Its more likely to be those boys in Glanvillia or the cocaine smokers in the area that are doing the robberies on Ross students.

One thing you forget is that people also come from areas out of Portsmouth to do those kind of things. So it may not necessarily be guys from the nearby area who do such.

I would shoot that piece of shyt if he entered my apt in the middle of the night. The SOB. The police should check those troublesome Glanvillia boys first since they are so close to Picard. Where was Ross security patrol?

Now it’s for those type of people Islamic law orders the cutting off their hand if it is proven during that burglary the offender stole valuables.

For sure this would be the best punishment to deter any burglar from attempting this again.

Dominicans it is time to wake up! You want justice Islam is the answer.

If this use to solve the problem then why are there prisons in Islamic countries? Centuries of hand chopping has not solved the problem there so why do you want to practice such madness in our country? Pure babaric and extremely cruel. The ones with chopped hands in Northern Nigeria and the Middle East continue stealing.
