A two-year suspended sentence and a fine of $1,500 each have been slapped on two young men convicted of burglarising a business fashion store two years ago.
Laudrick Bruno and Victor Matthew have been told by the court that they must pay the fines within six months.
The two were given a reduced sentence because they were first time offenders, cooperated with the police throughout the investigation, and according to their lawyer, attempted to turn their lives around after the incident.
Both are said to have expressed remorse for their actions.
Bruno and Matthew were brought before the court after burglarising Goodaz Fashion on 11th February, 2010.
The young men broke into the store and used candles to assist them in stealing items from the business.
Matthew was arrested by the police that same night while Bruno fled the scene.
Bruno was subsequently arrested upon investigation.
All the stolen items were returned to the proprietor of the store, Leroy Henderson.

The owner of the store is lucky that they did not burn down the store with the candles. Not smart boys at all, using candles to rob a store. I suppose that they did not want to turn the lights on for fear of being detected. They should not have been in the store at all. Why steal? I hope that they have turned their lives around for good. Bad habits are hard to break. They will need constant help in various ways to assist them to keep out of trouble when they are released.

Some of them were well-brought up and disciplined but they associated with the wrong people and chose the wrong path, placing shame on their parents and other members of their family. It is a worldwide situation.
