Alcedo Tyson, who has been charged with the murder of Dominican Kwanna Todd-Rhymer, was remanded in custody when he appeared in a British Virgin Island court on Monday.
Press reports from the BVI indicate that Tyson was not required to enter a plea since the offense is an indictable one.
He is expected to return to court on May 16.
Rhymer, originally from Grand Fond, was shot and killed during an alleged altercation with Tyson in the parking lot of the Deuces night club in Baugher’s Bay in the BVI at about 4 am on March 16, 2012.
She had been living in the BVI for a number of years.
Tyson reportedly turned himself in hours after the incident occurred and was formally charged with murder by BVI law enforcement on Saturday, March 17.

She was an attractive young woman. It is too bad that she is gone and so young. Note his face, eyebrows and hair. He does not appear to be a nice young man. There are times the women are badly treated. When they have taken enough and decide to quit, the men cannot take it which sometimes result in injuries and death. He will have some years, if not the rest of his life to regret his actions. Too late for he has tarnished his name and has a murder on his hands/life forever. He did not treasure his freedom.

Parents, make it a point of duty to TEACH your sons how to be good husbands and fathers of society. Teach them from very early that raising a finger to a woman is not acceptable. Teach them that it is NOT ok to be abused or even pushed, let alone, beaten by a man.
