Dominican killed in St. Croix, one man arrested

Ainsworth Languedoc

A Dominican was killed and a man arrested in St. Croix on Saturday morning in what has been described as a family dispute.

Media and police reports from that island indicate that Ainsworth Languedoc died due to several puncture wounds inflicted on various parts of his body.

Dominica News Online understands Languedoc was from the village of St. Joseph.

According to reports, police were called around 7:00 on Saturday morning when screams were heard coming from a residence in Estate Mon Bijou.

Languedoc’s unresponsive body was found and he was pronounced dead.

Around two hours later police arrested 27-year-old Andrew Loyd and charged him with first degree murder.

Police say a large knife, which they believe is the murder weapn, was recovered.

Media reports indicate that Languedoc was dating the suspect’s mother.

“This killing was not a random act. This was a family dispute between the victim and the suspect that turned deadly,” media in St. Croix quoted an unnamed detective  as saying.

Firstly , thanks for all the condolences ushered to my family and I during this extremely difficult and emotional time . I want to say that my father was an introvert , extremely quiet , unassuming , very reserve , and would shorn the mere appearance of evil . A wicked , calculated and heartless young man has deprived all of us from ever being with our father on this earth . He killed my father due to envy , jealousy and hate and nothing else . My father did nothing to this young man to deserve such a kill . My dad was in his bed sleeping when he was attacked and murdered without a justifiable cause . My father has departed this earth unexpectedly however his blood is on the hands , mind and soul of this murderer and he will be restless for life – I can assure him ! We will be coming to bury you and allow The Lord to give you Devine peace ! His only son , Carlton .

To all of you saying that Dominicans treat Haitians like shit do you all research, Haitians chooses to come to DA not by will, only because they did not have any other, just give then an inch and all those sucking up to them Haitians will see the outcome, we do not have to go far, just come to the Roseau market, when it is all said and done in DA, they will try to move to other countries where they will not be welcome all i have to say is time will tell with all you haitians

OH so he was murdered because Dominicans are not nice to Haitians? You people are sick and twisted in the worst way. What does this have to do with Haitians? Don’t Haitians rape and kill Haitains and other people in their own country. Whereever some of you get this garbage that Dominicans suddenly must be Haitians saviour and doormat you better shove it right back there. The man was killed by someone from Dominica after a long quarrel that escalated. Go murder people yourself and use Haitians vs Dominicans as your justification sicko

What would cause this man to murder another? Was he jealous that the victim was dating his mother? Hopefully, the truth will eventually be heard. Nevertheless, he had no right to murder another, depriving him of his life.
Dominica has its share of murders. I wonder how do murderers feel when they commit murder? How could they have the heart to commit murder, even to think of it and to also injure others? Why do they not think deeply before they act in such a grievous manner?
It is a serious matter to commit murder, taking a precious life. They did not give others life. They have no right to take a life.
The Law should deal with them according to their crime. They should be put away for life or executed/hanged. They should never walk the streets again. There should be no bail for them. They have forfeited their right to freedom. Those who kill deserve capital punishment.
Consider that their victim is dead and 6 feet deep, never to surface again. Why should they be released out on bail and walking the streets when they denied their victim(s) that golden opportunity of life? Government and Police authorities, please take note and do something about this.

when you hang someone, ain’t you taking a life too?Did you give that person life? All the same you got a point. Those murderers should have a taste of their own medicine.

      • Justice and Truth
        November 27, 2012

        @ Like or Dislike

As heard on a U.S. Catholic Radio, I will repeat, your comments are “misguided compassion”.
Can anyone replace a life? Can murderers replace the life of their victims? I reiterate that they murdered and then are free to walk the streets. This is unfair to those whom they murdered and also the victims’ families.
Do you think they should be walking the streets? If they are not hanged/executed, they should be incarcerated for life; not 10 or 25 years. They should not be released for good behaviour. Their good behaviour should have been projected and practiced when they were out, free people and when they did not murder anyone.
In Holy Scripture, in James, it is stated, “Do not touch their garments…”
Our Lord said, “If anyone causes one of those little ones to sin, it is better that a millstone be hung around his neck and he be thrown into the deep sea.”
What do you think of the above passages? Would you shake hands with a murderer and welcome him/her (generally, men are the ones who murder), into your home? Would you befriend and sleep with such a person? Would you know if the person was changed and also rehabilitated? Would you not fear that the person will murder again and in a worst manner?
It costs an exorbitant sum of money to keep them incarcerated at taxpayers’ expense. It is better to hang/execute them than to have them walk the streets among law-abiding people and to re-offend in a worst manner, sometimes raping, killing two or more people.
In all democratic countries where capital punishment is abolished, the majority of the law-abiding public are crying, shouting and pleading with their government for it to be reinstated. You have noted that crimes/murders have increased in Dominica. It is the same situation in progressive countries. What is the government to do with them and some hard-core ones who are beyond rehabilitation?
As far as I am concerned, those who murder others, they are doomed and have sealed their fate. They should be put away for life in whatever manner the Court deems, until they die.
Those who have relatives who murdered others are generally the ones who do not want the capital punishment for them. They would prefer that they are out walking the streets and with no punishment.
In my heart, I am certain that our God is not against it. Many innocent people are harmed and murdered by those evil people. Who would not want them to put away for good and for life? The public is living in fear of those murderers. You never know when they will strike and who they will strike and murder. The less criminals/ murderers there are in a country, the better for the country and its nationals. Those who commit crimes/murder are useless to their country, to society. Let the punishment fit the crime.

the sad part to all this besides the man getting killed is that he is going to be deported and become s a part of our society unnoticed. American society dont take the burden with foreign criminals, they will take their green card and passport and send u back where u once belong. most of our criminals are not locally grown…outside influence plays a great part and they walk the streets waiting for their next victim..just wish that when they are deported we had somewhere else for them other than our society..my though

My sincere sympathies to his family. Why are so many Dominicans being killed overseas?

    • Justice and Truth
      November 25, 2012

Ask not why. I would not ask why. Some people of the world cannot settle a dispute without pulling a weapon and murder others. They are too hot-blooded and cannot control their emotions and anger. This is why the death penalty should be utilized. This could be a lesson for others.
I would only make a statement, “Oh my! A lot of Dominicans are being murdered abroad, especially in those U.S. islands.” We must not forget about Guadeloupe.

    • Tut-Tut
      November 26, 2012

@ MISS Why are so many Dominicans being killed overseas? You need to think before you type/speak. These people are all Dominicans who were in their melee and the young man stabbed the man to death. You need to ask why are Dominicans so violent towards each other? Why are humans so undignified and incapable of showing compassion? Why are people including Dominicans so quick to jump for a weapon? This has nothing to do with Dominicans being killed overseas, they are killing each other right on the island.

      ‘vulnerable’

No where in the world is safe. As we worship God, we must pray to Him for protection. Strange too, today my thoughts ran on the last murder which was committed in Dominica, specifically of the victim. I thought, “It is scary to live in this world” but we have to cope and put up with it with the help of God. God also strengthens is people.
