Dominican ordered deported from Antigua

deportedDominican, Timothy Eloi, was ordered deported from Antigua last week after he was found guilty of wounding charges.

It is reported that Eloi has a history of convictions in the neighbouring island including firearm and ammunition possession, discharging of a firearm and cannabis possession.

His status has not been regularized in Antigua since 2007.

Antiguan court reports indicate that Eloi was part of a group which attacked and robbed Chad Peters, while he was walking with his girlfriend in the Golden Grove area back in 2009.

Peters was relieved of a gold chain and an I-pad.

The reports further indicate that a member of the group held on to Peters while Eloi inflicted him with a chop wound.

In court Eloi swore he did not know Peters, however the victims said he knew his attackers just like he knew his girlfriend.

He had the opportunity in Antigua to seek employment and be a worthy citizen and this is what he did? I am unable to comprehend this. Now he is returning to Dominica with a criminal record. What is he going to do in Dominica? I hope it is not to cause more trouble. The police should keep an eye on him from the moment he arrives.

I think the govt should have a registry for those deported criminals. The deporting country give you those criminals paperwork and i think it should be public record in Dominica.

I agree with you. Just as the U.S. keeps a registry of sex offenders and track their movement to determine their where-about, the authorities should do the same with those deported criminals so that the law authorities can keep check on them. Some of the worst crimes committed in Dominica are perpetrated by those returning crimminal deportees.

i hope our court and immigration taking a page from the books of antigua in light of deporting of persons when they have committed crimes. there is an antiguan national in wesley who have overstayed 6 years and more in Dominica and also has been convicted served jail and was not deported. a police officer was transfered as a result of reporting this man for threating his life and informing immigration of his status. i really hope that the people in authority is taking note.

He sounds like a bad person. Who is feeding him? Is he employed? If he is not a permanent resident or a citizen, why is he not deported? He should be served with a removal order. I hope the government learns something from this case about the Dominican who was deported.

So why can’t Dominica deport nationals from other countries who commit crimes/offences in Dominica?
Why are they given second chances and allowed to remain on our island?

    • LawieBawie
      April 30, 2013

But this guy apparently had several chances while in Antigua until he finally ran out of chances.

Dats the difference between the other civilised countries and Dominica. When a Dominican is convicted of a serious crime overseas, he/she is quickly deported back to DOMINICA.

On the other hand when illegal migrants ih DOMINICA are caught in serious crime in DOMINICA, they are allowed to remain here to commit more crime and disrespect.

magistrate, this is how you do things.
so when the Spanish come here and do their crap, they should be deported

  18. April 30, 2013

the sad thing is that dominca mmust accept him.so now my people that is another thug on the loose.

  19. Bob
    April 30, 2013

That’s all we need, somebody like him on the loose. He has caused enough trouble already and is now going to join the rest of the thankfully small minority of ‘no goods’ on DA. No wonder they want him out. There should be a program to deal with deportees who are no good so that people in the authorities can keep an eye on their activities.

Need to get his photo from Antigua or Dominica authority so we can know what he look like.
Coming to sew bad seeds .
The govt should be doing the same with the foreigners that also especially the Haitians who are behaving bad and believing that they can be deported.

      My God is Live:
You sound angry and partial. Why would you compare that with Haitians? I am sure you are not a reader and I am not to sure you have a good sense. Breast up yourself! please.
Can you update me on any crime a Haitian has committed in Dominica??? I would appreciate your response.

      • April 30, 2013

Last week three Haitians were convicted for fraudulent documents to the Amsterdam counsel where they were seeking a visa to go to St.Maarten. They had in their possesion fraudulent documents from Dominica and they were charged but was not deported. SO they are doing worst by giving Dominica a bad name. They to should be doported once a crime is committed. Respect the people country.

      • Dready
        April 30, 2013

Unless you are blind the Haitians are the fastest growing crime unit in Dominica. TRhey operate passport and immigration and people smuggling syndicates in open. Please come to the Roseau Magistrates Court for one week and you will not ask that question. Last week some Haitians applied for a visa to go to st. Marteen and produced a job letter fropm a person who died five years ago.

Well I believe all what you guys say but all in all I would like to let you know that nobody is above the law. If anyone commits a crime the la should deal with accordingly, but the vibes I was getting make me feel that they were being discriminated. If the case is so all those caught have to be dealt with.
Please remember people ‘Haitians are as human as anyone from any other nation”.
