Elio Edwards being led to court in the McMillan robbery matter in 2011
Elio Edwards being led to court in the McMillan robbery matter in 2011

A Dominican and a another man were injured in an incident in Guadeloupe earlier this week.

The incident involves the robbery of a pharmacy and a police chase.

It is reported that the masked Dominican, identified as Elio Edwards from Pointe Michel, and the man robbed the pharmacy at gunpoint and attempted to flee on a bike.

The police were alerted and  they gave chase. The chase ended when the bike ran into a guard rail. The two suffered injures.

Earlier reports that one of the men was shot in the head turned out to be false.

Edwards is well known to the police in Dominica.

On November 7, 2011 he was charged in connection with a robbery which took place at McMillan All-in-One Gas Station.

That incident took place on October 20, 2011.

The same year he was fined for stealing a gold chain.

The police in Dominica have said they are following the shooting incident in Guadeloupe.

I’m sure the French authorities are glad to see the back of him and don’t mind at all he was spirited back to Dominica. They dont want exports like those from us.

  2. January 19, 2015

If the report is true, as reported, then I would like to say to (TONY) . As you said, do not deport them to sweet Dominica. You should be well aware that at lest one of them crime spree started off in sweet Dominica. And that the retarded senseless folks that are in authority down there, that seems to think that, when they are released out on bail they will suddenly become good angels. They ( criminals ) have got news for them.
They, the ones in authority, need to stop kicking the can down the road, deal with their responsibilities and don’t leave it up to others.

Have you ever lied? Have you ever cheated? ALL SIN IS SIN & EVERYONE DESERVES TO BE FORGIVEN. Yes, he’s done wrong and isnt perfect. Are you? Instead of saying this is good, go pray that one of your loved ones dont end up in a situation where they have to fight fod their lives. Stupid mentality you have

@ SMH Elio seem to be a relative or very close friend so you going on that way, don’t worry I will remember you because when it won’t be close to home you will hang that person and not ask for forgiveness for them.

  14. The Facts
    January 15, 2015

Nov 7, 2011 he was charged for a robbery at a gasoline station. What was the result of this case?
The same year he was fined for stealing a gold chain. Did he pay the fine? The man is a habitual thief! These are two infractions and he was not imprisoned?
He has infractions. He should not have left D/ca. Was his passport stamped as a criminal, seized for that matter and prohibited from leaving Dominica?
Did he leave D/ca without permission? Did he leave for Guadeloupe by air or boat? Surely he did not swim. How could this be for a criminal?
If he is deported to D/ca, imprisonment should be his lot.
The police and Immigration authorities will have to explain to Dominicans how a criminal, charged and fined twice, managed to leave Dominica.

    • January 16, 2015

u never hear of a word all back door.. yu dont need passport all u need is 6-800 ec dollars and ur in gwada…look now he escape from the hospital…

    January 15, 2015

Some Dominicans really need to grow up & stop with this adversed attitude towards everything, especially for these things.. Stop wishing for karma or seeking revenge on simple things that should be forgiven. He isn’t perfect, but afterall who is? All sin is sin, measured equally.. none is greater than another.. and we all have sinned & fell short at some point. So all these irrelevant & negative comments? Keep them to y’all selves!!!

Please get well soon Elio! You are in my prayers my dear. God still has a plan for you..

@smh. Why do you want to tell people when and how to express their opinion? it doesn’t matter the story or circumstance , sinner or not, people have the legal rights to express themselves however they wish. So you trying to tell me that if someone has done me bad , i should not feel some kind of hatred towards them ? i want you to know that at the end of the day God knows our thoughts and he is a forgiving God, he is my judge not you , you are in no position to tell people how they should feel. That’s why people like him will keep doing wrong and get away with it when people like you keep feeding his bad ways. For your information , there are two well known proverbs, ” what you sew you will reap” and ” how you make your bed is so you sleep” Most people work very hard and make lots of sacrifices for what they have and he cannot keep going around stealing people’s stuff and at the end of the day when it comes back and hunt him the people suppose to feel sorry for him ?

    • No Man Is God
      January 16, 2015

God may very well have a plan for him but you should also remember that God’s words said “be warned God is not mocked for whatsoever a man sow that shall he also reap” So it is all good and well to forgive and hope for the best or a change, but he will suffer the consequences of his actions.

This kind of superstition, have wreak havoc in Dominica throughout history, it is a shame there are still people in Dominica who believes in obeah (voodoo) and suocooyant!

Recently a police officer succumbed to his death ,he had investigated a case where a teenage boy was sodomized and murdered, it was alleged that the police officer stole a gold chain from the victim , so based on the information I just gave u can expect what happened. obeah and voodoo do exist in our midst.

lol, so true, in 2014 a DA woman made the news in Antigua for stating at the hospital compound that she is Dominican and is going there. she giving the person who shot her son in his leg 9 days. that was in the news. apparently her son was an escaped prisoner who also was charged for the fatal stabbing of a fellow inmate. he died from the wound to his leg.

Hard work pays off at the end. The owner of the gas station worked extremely hard to be where he is today. You should follow his example. Then you won’t have the time to engage in idle gossip.

These guys are committing crimes in DA, given bail then run off to Guada through the back door and continue to commit crimes over there. When they are finish, let them blame the Govt. for lack of employment on island. Haitians are coming on island and being able to find work to do but our locals rather to sit on the block and beg for a $5.00
DNO should make the effort in ascertaining the identity of the other guy before publishing this news item as being reported that 2 Dominicans were involved in this robbery

These young boys are pure and simply giving dominican’s who are good citizens in guadeloupe a bad name,,they are lazy and want every thing for free…i hope no one blames his parents ,because no matter how well parents educate their children when they become grown ups they choose the life that they want to live..
