Two men are in police custody following a drug bust in the village of Petite Soufriere on Tuesday.
93 pounds of marijuana were confiscated.
PRO of the Dominica Police Force Inspector John Carbon said two men were arrested after officers from the Drug Unit carried out operations in the community.
One of the men appeared in court on Thursday where he pleaded not guilty and the matter adjourned for a later date.
The other man was taken to the psychiatric unit of the Princess Margaret Hospital because, according to the police, he began acting in a strange way while being arrested.
He is expected to face the court on Friday.

when Jamaica’s economy was down Ganja was what sustained it, Columbia is among the worlds top producer of drugs yet U S supports it, we are taking orders from U S & U K to crack down on drugs in our respective countries but who manufacture weapons and in most cases what currency pays for the weapons traded “drugs” of course; in Canada and in the us ganja is grown under license, pretending it is for medical reasons, it is used to produce high protein foods under the name hemp,it is also very useful in textile production, and we should use it in worthwhile production domestically; in Carlifornia there is a port festival and all the top boys fly over there in their private jets to participate and it is said this is where there worlds best port is being produced,why is it right for them and wrong for us, when are we going to think mature, think independent and stop persicuting our inocent people because the top boys say clean them up and live that trade for us the controlers, why cannot our leaders see the double standard that is involved in the drug trade, in Dominica (the marijuana trade)that is where we need leaders to represent us, not just leaders looking for a salary and following a political party just showing colours and towing the line. come on we need something to replace the banana industry that these very top boys destroyed. Time to change that law.

A game of pretense to deceive the Police, judges and magistrates. It is time that they catch on. If they are deemed a mental case they will not be imprisoned. It will be said that they were not in a right frame of mind.
