A gunshot was fired in Kings Lane tonight as a gunman attempted to rob a man of a gold chain.
Reports are the victim was sitting on the roadside when he was approached by a gunman who demanded his gold chain. One shot was fired and the gunman escaped in a waiting car.
No one was injured and SSU police are presently processing the scene.

Nobody has to go to the police to ‘cry for help.’ It’s their job to repond crimes. But I guess we all can see that they can’t do that. I am a History teacher, and so I believe in letting the records speak for themselves. So, if we are all honest, the Police’s record of solving crimes in Dominica is really low. But their record for getting young girls pregnant and not supporting the children is pretty high. Their record of abusing people is also high. I live on King George V Street, so I hear the screams from the cells at night.

I left Dominica a month after I called the police several times for help with a dispute I had with a neighbor and to this day they never showed up. I knew then that I had to leave the country, no protection from the police. I could have been killed that day.
