“I will not change” – senior police investigator commenting on attack

Police Corporal Patrick George said an attack on his River Estate home is linked to “high profile” money laundering investigations he has been involved in.

George, who is the senior investigator at the Financial Intelligence Unit, said some people tried to set fire to his house at about 3:30 Sunday morning by throwing bottles of liquid into his house. He said a loud explosion caught his attention.

However, on Monday, George said he will not stop investigations into money laundering matters because of Sunday’s incident.

“I take a no-nonsense approach where these type of offenses are concerned and these guys they know that… They know that I’m resolute in my decision in terms of my approach to this thing, my policy, so the only way they can silence me is to get rid of me.

“I will not change because if I change that means that I am giving in to them and that means that crime will be superseding good,” George stressed.

He said he has been getting a great deal of support from law enforcement officials, government and others in the public since the arson attempt.

First of all I find George very unethical. The fact that he is jumping to conclusion based on the fact that he is investigating another case just shows how poorly our justice system is failing. Have you every heard of people being arrest without circumstantial evidence and a warrant? Hell no!! This only happens in Dominica. I can bet you if our Justice System was straight you would be sitting down in jail right now. Based on what you said, I scene a lot of hatred and jealousy that may be coming from some personal problems you have with the individuals you are investigated. Dominica needs some investigators who actually earned a DEGREE and know hows the Justice System works… Not how they want it to.

George I feel bad for you and your family. That should never happen to you. But if you saying is the high profile case that prompted the attack i think you may be mistaken. Those high profile people would not send little man with liquid in bottle to hurt you. Come On. If they so high profile they should be High Profile in all things. Don’t you agree

Hmmmmmmmm I like to look at things from all angles though I don’t think its right for the man ti be attacked at his home in the middle of the night. I question the reason behind all the comotion and I wonder how information regarding a high profile money laundering case was publicised in the first place. These investigations should be top secret no wonder all high end officials getting away with money laundering eg. PM
