Information-sharing to make Dominica’s crime-fighting efforts easier

Carrette

Dominica is better poised to collaborate with other countries of the region in the area of information-sharing as it relates to fighting crime.

This comes as a result of Dominica’s participation in the fourth Hemispheric and Intelligence Conference which was held in Santiago, Chile from June 07-09, 2011.

Dominica’s Chief of Police, Cyril Carrette, along with head of the island’s Criminal Investigative Department (CID), Davidson Valerie, joined their counterparts from 32 other countries for the important forum.

The island’s Chief of Police views this meeting as having several potential benefits for Dominica.

“We met with our counterparts from 32 other countries where we discussed measures where we can collaborate with each other. We tried to ensure that there was trust among the partners and that we could make information sharing a little much easier in our crime fighting efforts. It has been realised that no one country can fight crime on its own. There must be a collaborative effort as crimes now transcend the national boundaries,” he said.

The issue of crime-fighting continues to be a challenge for most countries and Dominica is no exception.

The police chief said that it is necessary that Dominica explore all avenues to fight crime and keep it at a minimum.

“We try to ensure that we were able to agree with the sharing of our resources: human and other resources. The countries who are better able will help the countries who are less able to deal with those situations because gone are the days when we could say that what is happening, for example, in America will not happen in Dominica. the world is now a global village; it is becoming smaller so we have to use whatever means possible to ensure that we can mitigate the effects of crime in our communities,” he said.

Carrette must tell the Dominican public why did he disobey the orders of the court just recently by refusing to arrest Isidore, the Lawyer. The Chief Magistrate signed and issued a warrant for the police to arrest Isidore, but Carrette made a foolish excuse by saying that he was out of State and so the arrest could not be carried out. By right, Carrette should never be made Chief of Police after such disrespect for the Courts order. Carrette further disqualified himself to be Chief of Police when he mentioned that he contacted the US for an ARSONIST to help solve the criminal act of ARSON, firebombing Emanuel’s home.

It was that same Carrette who as AG. Chief told the nation that the police would not be investigating the RUBBISH BIN scandal any time soon in response to a question on the matter. The DPP had submitted the documents with all the facts and evidence about that secret illegal purchase which involved the people’s money from our Treasury. Those documents picking up DUST.

Why were there so many police on the day Isidore had to appear in court? Who ordered them to be there on that day at that time? In addition, Carrette told us that investigations are still going on in the firebombing and attempted assassination of Emanuel and his wife, yet was bold enough to conclude that Isidore is not a suspect? But Carrette investigations are not complete, so you say.

What about the unlicensed gun given back to BUBBLES by a certain officer after the gun was taken from Bubbles by police as evidence in a court case? That’s Illegal. Illegal. Illegal. NOTHING happened. NOTHING. Peter Tosh sang,” Tell me who are the criminals.”

Dominicans say it must be another example of protection for the BIG BOYS, friends, colleagues and the CABAL BIG Wigs? It is PLAIN to see. Dominicans mistrust Carrette due to his pronouncements which are highly partisan, but extremely dangerous for the rule of law and respect for the constitution.
