Three students from the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School are being questioned by the police following a fight at the school’s bus stop on Monday afternoon.
The police have said the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown but have confirmed it took place and the students are being questioned.
An eyewitness who reportedly saw what happened told Dominica News Online the incident occurred at 1:15 pm when a group of boys started a fight.
Teachers on the scene tried to separate the students, “ according to the eyewitness, who also reported seeing one boy with a bloodied head.
The incident caused a huge pile up of traffic in the area.
DNO is following the story and will publish additional information as soon as it becomes available.
Universal Education System that causing that. Spare the rod and spoil the child. Discipline is needed in the schools and parents need to stop being part of the problem. Take more interest in your children. discipline them and stop playing soutiway!
DNO! Allu too bad! Allu mean to tell me that allu so doe have no work to do inside there, allu reporting about school children fighting? REALLYYY!!!!! Something that happens in all schools, in all countries and all over the world??? I’m starting to think this is not a news site but a so called “beff” site. Just now allu will start to report on who have who man! OH GOSH MAN!
ITSS student need to stop there foolish behave themself they need to stop act like pre school and primary school children and act like high school children wat’s in there head
that fight trust me i was there and i was like omg these kids needs a beaten damn
JUST WHEN ITSS PICK UP ITSELF SOME MACK-ACK CHIRREN TRYING AND BRING IT BACK DOWN……DNO REPORTERS, CHECK ALLU SELF EH, CUZ ALL SCHOOL HAVE FIGHTS. RIGHT!
Just noting, when reporting other schools, DNO always says “some school in the city”. However, when it is ITSS, it is blasted on the page. I live overseas and I enjoy reading the stories on here but please as journalists try to be more neutral in reporting.
wen i go praise god i bettin is nt i.t.s.s students dat start the fight eh ppl to like to look for trouble for themselves.
every school has brawls afta school… why did the peron find it necessary to send that news to DNO. Is the person doing a personal attack on the school.. Every 1 o’clock the streets of roseau is a wreslting ring…stop bash ITSS…..
I do not blame the government but what I can say is that Dominica was not ready for Universal Education! I believe that we have to go back to the old system of screening our students- those who top the exams go to secondary school and those who do not succeed get a second chance and go to JSP- the old system worked!!!
Backward way of thinking.
A.S.A.P.
I happened to be on a bus when the fight seemed to have started. The boys were like wooligans, in clusters. It was sad to see each of those boys was somebody’s child. Another bus driver blowing his horn so he could go through, but the cluster of boys did not care, or did not ever hear. Then I saw a flying missile, which might have been a stone. It was very scary, and I was happy when the fight left the front of the bus that I was on, and moved to the back, so we could move away. I am pleading to parents, to please take control of your little ones, so they will grow up to be peaceful and loving citizens. What I saw today was too ugly.
you all need to stop that hypocrisy,we all fought in school,I hated it but we all did,so stop blaming govt blame parents and students,Iwill clarjfy that I was not a trouble maker till this day but kids always wanted to fight me just for the heck of it.#just saying!
Take it to mean that when principals take decisions to suspend not even expel yet , just suspend the children who behave in-humanely the government offices and ministry under education minister and chief ed.officer overturns it . look into grammar school and previous sagas . An we fought yes , but how did we do it ? to what extent we go ? today these fights are more gang related . how much gangs did we have in our time at school . our fight was i jack you , you do same we roll , we are separated , cained and share same detention or lose chance of graduation , no proplonged fights today it’s proplonged and taken to streets everyday .
There was a huge fight last week involving three young girls two from lower belfast who fought with a young haitian girl . The girls was grabbed from the contracted bus and beaten infront of her haitian mother who works at a restaurant in Mahaut ( lower Belfast ) . These things need to stop honestly and Mr …. i tell you , you have to look beyond the politics of government and take actions since the PTA is ready to watch your back .
These kids needs to be expelled i do not promote violence but really and truly my nephew most learn to behave himself. I am no hypocrite
DNO says : “The incident caused a huge pile up of traffic in the area.” So which area was this?
A journalist should always report: What, when, where, who, why.
so u not seein it say by d skool bus stop before den
OK. So say ” …at the school’s bus stop on the Le Blanc Highway at St. Joseph.”
So my aunt in Connecticut who lef Domnica since 1965 will know where they talking bout.
what you want the job?
bad parenting……90% chance…bad parenting…
ITSS again!!!!
It is rather embarrasing to hear each minute that something bad happens at the ITSS and is St.Joseph that is getting the bad name. I remember when i went to school that there was overcrowded and nobody came to our rescue, as soon as a school was built it became everybody’s own and i always believe that the people of Senjo should retaliate. Had we kept our school for ourselves then those notorious characters would be elsewhere spoiling it’s name and not St.Joseph. i am calling on all Senjo people for us to take back our community from these vagrants.
it’s the minister’s fault of course! no wait…it’s skerrit’s fault!smh
little black boys; go to school and learn!
little black boys; show some concern!
