The jury has retired in the Soufriere family murder trial.
In his two and a half hour summation Justice Brian Cottle told the jury that the prosecution must satisfy them of the guilt of the three accused persons.
“Any doubt must be in favor of the accused persons, disregard anything you may have heard, seen or read anywhere. The facts are what you choose to believe,” Justice Cottle said.
He explained to them the case for the prosecution is that the three committed murder together.
“Look at the case of each accused person to see if they took some part in the act. If so they are guilty,” he pointed out.
The judge went on to deal with the evidence produced in court starting with that of Jacqueline Williams, the wife the deceased.
He also dealt at length with the report of the pathologist and the statements given by the three accused persons from the prisoners dock on Thursday.
The jury of seven women and two men retired at 11:35 am and a verdict is expected some time after lunch.
Herbert Xavier and sisters Loretta Xavier and Manuela Williams are accused of murdering their brother Harrison Williams in Soufriere.
The incident took place in September 2010.

They deserve lifetime jail in solitary. no visits no contact with the outside world. because that is just how the man’s family is right now without him.treat them like the animals that they are, how can you so violently kill anyone who grow up in the same home as you,much more your brother?
As my name says ‘LIFE AFTER DEATH’. i believe that they diserve life because they caused a death. they left a suffering wife and little girl.whose loved one did not have to die in the manner that he did. im not saying im not sorry for the three accused family as well.it is sad and it is a shame/embarassment. Too often we are so quick to finger-point. IF and when. God forbids, such issues come to our homes and or communities what then would we say ?
