LIAT reacts to arrest of employee in Barbados

The management of LIAT (1974) Ltd has taken note of the reports in the regional media of the arrest of its employee First Officer, Keith Allen.

A Media release of 24th November 2011 from the Barbados Police Force indicates that a number of charges relating to possession and importation of controlled substances were laid against Mr. Allen.

The management of LIAT wishes to indicate its full support for, and cooperation with, law enforcement authorities in relation to any incidents where its cooperation is required. LIAT also intends to conduct its own investigation into this matter.

The management of LIAT is confident that the overwhelming majority of the Company’s employees continue to respect the laws of their country. It is our hope that the actions of one employee will not reflect negatively on the hundreds of ethical LIAT employees who work hard to serve the public daily.

Nothing people say about Liat will ever shock me. The office in Roseau is very nice polite people in there. But the ladys in Melville Hall airport most of them couldn’t get a job at McDonalds in the States! They are rude as hell. I guess they don’t teach them the customer is always right.

Liat can do a lot better, individuals have always attempted to taint the company; but it’s always good to know Liat will always be there.

    Just a little segue.

Some time ago, I travelled from Barbados to Dominica on LIAT. The flight attendant has one kind of accent. I could not recognize it as being from anywhere (must be a LIAT accent). All the way from Barbados, same accent.

Anyway, when we landed in Dominica another LIAT employee came to the door of the plane and they started talking. Mamselle let go one calitay Dominican accent. I could not stop laughing.

Anyone here knows how I can acquire a LIAT accent?

    • oh really!!

A ex-commissioner Desmond J Blanchard. He knows a thing or two about funny accents.
It is claimed, the longest stint outside of Dominica for him was sux(6) months on police training school in the late 60’s.he is know for an Americanized English accent- means he alternates the twoafter every 1/2 hald sentence. That my friends is interesting.
was the LIAT employee his daughter? LMAO

I am glad that they caught the guy and the company’s stance on it, but when you want to talk about ‘hundred of ethical LIAT employees’, from where I am sitting I do not even think that company on a whole, has much of a stance on ethics.

I do not see the ethics whenever I have to pay double for my luggage that I receive two days later.

Can we, even if for one fleeting moment, before it happens or proven to happen take the high road and avoid placing Dominica in bad light? Some people simply like to see Dominica’s name in bad light no matter what the issue is. They seem to get a fillip from tarnishing the name of Dominica
